I’ve watched the kid for a lot of years and that’s what I’m basing my impression of him on....I realize not many share will my prediction......I will say his growth seems to have all but stopped, so a change of scenery is indeed in his best interest. Will he get a shot? Wouldn’t shock me if, as you say, he has to think outside the box to get that opportunity but I just remember watching this kid out play his opposition at levels that made him look special. I guess we’ll see.

I think the issue is he's demanding a trade because the wants a NHL spot. So whoever trades for him better be willing to give him that now otherwise he's going to pull the same poop. If it were me I'd have Frost ahead of him for any open spots.

I do agree though that too much is made about the off ice stuff, unless he really is that much of a distraction.

Zero games in and we're already complaining about cap issues (caused by injuries, mind you). This place is priceless.

Part of managing the cap is keeping space to account for injuries.

Sure, but we're literally zero games in and complaining. It must be exhausting to be that miserable.

I don't think it has anything to do with being miserable. I think it's the fact that although there are always things that you can do to work around it, some would like the team to have more flexibility in that area.

Except it isnt that big of a deal. Myers will be up soon. The problem is having 8 Dmen. It is only a matter of time before Hagg is dealt and that will give us that wiggle room. The team improved on paper regardless.

At the end of they day a lot of space is available next season. Gudas, AMac, Schlemko Braun are all off the books which comes out to 6 mill. Maybe we move on from Raffl as well and free up another 1.6 mill.

Not True. the buyouts will be on the cap next season.

Not a fan of the lines or pairings

If in a month we're talking about ghost struggling again, look no further to his linemate

There will be flexibility, maybe not a ton, but the unusual circumstances here at the start of this season has some overblowing the concern IMO. If after 10 games we're 3-7 and haven't made the necessary paper moves to ice a more complete lineup, then I'll start to question those decisions. Not really worth it at this time.

I wouldn't put too much stock into that performance. Prior to that he was dominant in preseason.

All I’ve heard is how preseason doesn’t matter. Monday looked like our best challenge yet.

Really? Why is this crazy to assume? Instead of 8 goalies, barring injury, you have 2 main ones. Net stability, better talent (i think you would be crazy to say that Hart, talent alone, is not better than the gaggle of goalies we have had under our employ the last few years), and with this comes more confidence from the players in front of the goalie. This has been said ad naseum by players after they have left the game so to not throw their current goalies under the bus, that it is much less stressful to play when you know you don't have to be perfect and if one goal is scored than you know the game is basically over.

And the argument of the league has a better idea who Carter Hart is now, the league has a pretty good idea of who Rask is, who Price is, who Vaslievsky is, etc etc etc. Im not saying Hart is or will be any of them, but the cream always rises. That argument is tired.

HE’S A SECOND SEASON PLAYER COMING OFF A 30 GAME ROOKIE SEASON.

What exactly do you guys think Hart is right now?

After using 8 goalies last season, many of who are at best AHL caliber, you think its crazy to assume a full season of Hart makes us better?

Jeez, I think even 2Real and Plind would agree that it makes us better.

Steve Mason wins Calder his rookie season with the jackets. What happened to him after that?

Brian Boucher is another example after his rookie season. I for one need to see more.

IMO, his positioning and lateral movements throughout preseason looked very polished. Things like that translate to regular season games.

I’m not saying he can’t be good this season. I’m saying many impressive rookies have a rough second seasons. Learning curves.

It doesn’t master if we have two goalies this season or nine goalies. The only way we can be better is if the players show up.
