I've said for months I wasn't a fan of the Strome 2C decision, but I feel like if I would give Chytil 10 games before evaluating, we kinda have to do the same with Strome. - 2sticks1puck
I like the idea of Kravtsov and Chytil playing a lot, and playing together, in Hartford for a little while. These two are a HUGE part of our future, guys like Strome, Names, Smith are not.
Let these two develop some chemistry |

Most obvious observations have been made in this thread already so I won't rehash.
Bottom line, the result was awesome even if the product was shaky.
Just a fun atmosphere. Going into this week off 2-0-0 would be incredible and could provide this team with a little bit of swagger. But we are Rangers fans so...
10 games in Ottawa is 1-7-2 with their lone win on Oct 5th. |

This is a team that a good team should beat. If we want to show that we are going to take the next step in our rebuild, this is kind of a game that you have to be able to win. |

I really want to start out 2-0 and then have this week off
if we lose tomorrow, we'll wallow in the loss waaaaaaay too long and analyze it to death |

We would all do ourselves a huge favour if we could hold any sort of analysis for about 6 months. I know that is never gonna happen, but... |

2 pts... lots to talk on , great comeback & HANK finding a lil when we needed it
Winny has a great top 6 coming at you & no B Little,D issues for sure ,Goalie got beat by HANK ...
Our top line should get K K but then 2nd line looks more like a 3rd line ,for now leave 1 & 2 alone , hope Strome had the jitters a lil ( 2 penalties, weak ones too) ,Krieds not seen unless streaking ,need big body to play like one ,not just PP ,hope they find sumchemistry In OTT.
D : I D K a lot of play in our end ,Cycling & puck control in 1st & 2nd was impressiv by Winny , no one on D really looked good playing D , moving puck out ..etc But offensively we are fine with a lot of strong shot takers ,Fox (reminds of leetch ?really gonna be special)looked best aside from Trouba (he played like a #1 pair ,needs a mate) SHey ? improved as game wnt on ? no conclusions but either Staal or Smith as 6 D man , Need the top pair & things work out,Lindgren should be 23rd man & rotate with Hijak,1 game aint a conclusion BUT will need a better way to break out when pressed with 2 down low fwds attacking our break out
3rd line when Howden & Lemwiex ,Names got together ,mixer started to happen ,Fast ? non factor got bumped to 4th line ,I would play Mckegg or Haley in lineup , looked exposed sumwhat , Andersen O K ,had sum jump ,held his game up ,Smith not a factor as wing or D , I prefer him on D instead of Staal rotated with him ,Thats where Haley or McKegg would flourish with ANdersen
I see lots of combos tried as we find out whos who & what best chemistry ....L G R |

Chytil needs some time with the Pack. His faceoff numbers are terrible and not going to improve by being the 2C up here. |

Speaking of face-offs, here are the stats from last night:
Player .................Face-off Wins ............Face-off Loss
Mika ----------------11 --------------- 12
Strome ------------ 9 ---------------- 4
Howden ----------- 4 ----------------- 10
Lias ---------------- 1 ------------------ 3
Strome is the only one good at winning draws.
The Rangers have never been afraid to spend $$ and bring in great coaches
( like Allaire ). Why can't they bring in a top guy to teach/coach face-offs? |

I can live with Mika's rate. I actually agree with you though, at some point this becomes an area that the org will need to address. When you are clinging to a one goal lead late in the game and the other team has an extra attacker in the offensive zone, you need to win those faceoffs. |
