Speed and finesse...so you want a team built like Montreal?

St. Louis doesn't have that much speed or finesse, but I guess any team that wins games does look faster and finess-ier.

He's not as good as Pascal Laberge, who went 3 picks earlier. Nope, not even close.

Yeah, I don’t like them either. Would also rather see Morin over Hagg. I know Hagg blows, so might as well see what Morin can do.

Started thinking about how they would matchup. (Coots out against Toews).

Also that Giroux would improve the play of Hayes, while Couturier would improve the play of Konecny and Lindblom.

Each of the top 2 lines have two defensively responsible guys to offset the one who doesn't know where the d zone even is. So maybe that is the thought process.

I am also expecting to see Hagg and Morin rotate a little bit. The staff may want to see Morin get his legs under him a little more, ease him in because of how much time he missed.

I dunno. Just spitballin'

Yes....hoping for the best.
Needed more speed....did not get it ( maybe the kids can raise the bar here)
Needed more finesse...did not get it (kids, again)
Hoping there is something to the sports saying 'rather be lucky than good'
I want to believe, but it is difficult

We can just agree to disagree then..

On paper this team is substantially better in multiple ways then the one that started last season.

Watched a little of the Preds vs. Wild last night. Man. do I love how Lavy's teams compete. Still miss that "jam." I always felt that we were in the game regardless of score. We just kept coming at teams.

On paper they are better. I think on paper this team has been a lot better than what their record has indicated for the past several seasons. But as Bill Parcels aptly said, "You are what your record says you are."

To me, this core group of players has to prove it on the ice before they get any benefit of the doubt whatsoever.

It's amazing how much better Debrincat has turned out after being taken out in his D+1 year due to a concussion from a crazy dirty headshot.

The real issue with the Flyers from 2016 was taking that bum Carter Hart in the 2nd round. He's only played 31 games while players from round 3-6 have all played more and are therefore better.

First game. I’m fine with it. I like they are trying Carsten on the third line. See if he can continue the pressure and if so jvr is a good compliment for rebounds. Shoot and crash.

Niskanen on PP2 is the one lineup choice that completely baffles me. Sanheim should be running PP2, and he's not even on it.

I thought for a second his name was Carsten. That would be awesome and horrible.

I think I have more confidence in Hagg’s experience and positioning over Morin. I absolutely have more faith in Morin’s ability with the puck and you just can’t teach size. I would to see Morin’s nasty side early.

I’m also within the group of fans who doesn’t understand why Niskanen is on the Power Play. I am however very interested in seeing what the second unit will look like in game. I’m assuming Konency on left half wall, Provorov top of the umbrella, Niskanen on right half wall, Lindblom in the slot and Hayes in the crease?

8 x $6.5m extension for Schenn in St Louis.

Meanwhile Lehtera is the KHL, and FaraFrost are in the AHL.

Agree. Injuries will happen. I am interested to see Morin play games. His injury was unfortunate but now he’s here. Now I want to see if there’s more progression.
