I just can't wrap my head around the idea you can win games with half of your starting line up being AHL caliber defenseman. The last 3 years this has been the case. - BetweenTheDots

Quite true on Mahomes. The guy's amazing. But, for perspective....every team passed on Tom Brady multiple times. Plenty also passed on Marino, and Rodgers. And Cade McNown.....oh, wait. - mohel

Said it before and I'll say it again, AHL players are not the answer, Smith and Carpenter would kick their asses. - rpeters01

(frank)ing Bears!
Had a bad feeling about this game. They laid a turd in Daniel’s second game last year too.
Saw some of the first half. Run blocking still isn’t getting that push to spring Montgomery...or is he just kind of meh, I don’t know. |

Daniels looked as good at times as he was bad. The defense, I know there is an injury of two, but they were horrible. Montgomery can be good, but idk what it is. I hated getting rid of Howard. It seems like it is all up to Cohen. Idk, I was so excited, & so far I haven't been given a reason to be. I like Piñiero, if he can stay healthy. |

Carl Dahlstrom has gone from not being able to make the Chicago Blackhawks, to being on waivers, to the #NHLJets top defence pairing. He didn't take part in pre-game warmup but is in this game for #NHLJets |

Hey, Bingo - can’t go to sleep on your Canes - three 3rd period comebacks, 3 extra time wins.
TBL had only 2 SOG after the first period.
Brind’amour has them playing good defense, responsible disciplined hockey. Good defense, puck possession....entertaining to watch. |

If the Hawks had only given him another week or two to develop.
Stan’s poor sense of timing is on display yet again in regard to moving and signing players. |

Not sure how you can blame Gustafsson when 4v4 full puck possession in the O-zone Keith turns it over, then gets toe-Dragged by Konecny (filthy goal btw).
Keith also gets burned wide by 4th liner Raffl on the Wrap-around. Bad goal by Crow but Keith had a chance to win that battle and prevent a shot attempt.
Hawks seem completely lost when the opposing team has puck possession behind the Hawks goal line. 3 guys chasing behind the net and wide open opposing forwards in the slot. Time and time again.
Smith and Carpenter need to hit defenseman on the forecheck or what’s the point of them being in the lineup over Perlini?
Saad is wasting away on line 3. DeBrincat and Strome could use Saad/Kubalik on their line to add speed, size, and north/south play.
Down 2 goals in the 3rd and Colliton puts Caggiulla with 19&88...why?
Murphy, DeHaan,Dach, & Perlini on Thursday would give the Hawks a lot more talent on the ice.
Lehner may steal the starting spot from Crow with a few more outings like yesterday. - EnzoD
GREAT post. 100% agreement on all this. Especially on Keith allowing the winger to get past him when all he had to do was step in front of him as he carried the puck in. Keith had him all lined up but instead decided a backwards crossover skating move made more sense. I guess he didn't want any body contact..... and then CC totally looked lazy on the Wrap-around.
Poor plays by 2 of our best of all time.

Their puck possession can be incredible--they could be tough--especially if they get good goaltending. |

Time to trade with the Jets... Gustafsson and Perlini for Copp or Lowry. |

It's bad. Plus Morrissey was a last minute scratch. That's how Dahlstrom got in the game tonight. He wasn't supposed to play.

Always plenty of sarcasm around here when it comes to Bowman making bad decisions.
I don’t get it
When people call him out for a series of poor moves/decisions it’s because it’s the truth. He’s had several crucial (frank) ups over the past several years. Not saying he hasn’t made some nice moves as well, but he certainly deserves plenty of blame for the past 3 seasons of failure.
I do believe though that this season has potential to become a turning point where we become contenders again, and I like the majority of the roster changes he made this summer. Hoping it all works out. |
