I, plus many others here, love Andrew Copp - but do you think the Jets might be showcasing him?
Might Copp+, or Roslovic+ (heaven forbid) fetch is a pretty decent d-man?
Interesting suggestion thrown out there on post-game show - might the Jets try to move a goalie (Helle I assume) for a d-man? I'm thinking Columbus is a possibility.
Letestu and Bitetto to the Moose! (hopefully) - grahamzky
Move Helle, then who do you stick in net? The team is one injury away from having the Birdman backing up the starting goalie, whoever that might be.
Folks, the team is real thin on goalie depth at the moment. Comrie is gone to the Valley of the Sun, and we have the Birdman and another goalie who I don't even know what his name is backing the Birdman up on the Moose.
So, if we move Helle, what are we getting back? A Dman that can strap on the pads?
I can't see them moving Copp, no way. He is one of the best defensive forwards we have and we need him, not to mention his ability to centre. Plus, agree with Ross that if you move Copp, it just guarantees Letestu or Bitetto of Borque a full time job. Can't see Copp being dangled. Roslovic, perhaps but then the same thing will happen as above.
The early season is a hot mess. |

Lol, I’m at the airport and he’s about to board a flight to toronto, so a little lucky to break the story I guess.
I told him the team needs him and wished him luck, he said thank you |

Where aren't the Jets thin? No goalie depth, no defense depth, no center depth. The only place they have an excess of quality players is at winger, which happens to be the easiest position to fill.

And about Copp. What's the point of having a defensive forward when your team gives up 35 shots a night? |

Yeah, your right, trade him away...….lol, oh and yes, its all Maurices fault, all of it.....I am just writing your next sentence for you.
Reach for the positive terminal once in awhile, lol |

We have abundant wingers, agree.
Centre, well, maybe we are lacking a 2 C but are we really that thin on C besides a 2 C? Copp, Little, Lowry, Gustafson, Roslovic, Perrault can go in a pinch, I am not sure after that. I guess you could say we are thin.
Goaltending definitely now thin for sure.
D is definitely disastrously thin on icing NHL ready calibre. Agree. Mind you, I like some of our prospects so there is some organizational depth there but not NHL ready. Agree |

Was thinking if deal was with Columbus, the deal would be a d-man and Korpisalo+ so the Jets wouldn't be stuck without a goalie.
Also, what's the status with Comrie, if he hasn't been sent down, he no doubt will be with the Coyotes now having both Raanta and Kuemper. Re-claim him.

Re-claim is totally possible. Illegal curve was talking about that as the Yotes likely won't travel with 3 goalies on the team. So, someone is going to get sent down. Most likely will be Comrie and the Jets will have an opportunity to do just that.

You're the one that said our defense is "horrifying" how do you plan to fix it if you won't even give up an Andrew Copp?

Like I always say, you have to give value to get value. The player I would be dangling is Adam Lowry. Isn't he supposed to be our big shutdown guy? |

It's true Heinola should be solid in another year or 2, add in a Samberg, and maybe another prospect turns into a depth defenseman, the Jets should be set. They just have to sacrifice this year and maybe next year as well.

Not a chance I would trade Lowry. There are teams right up against the cap and maybe even some over the cap. Just wait till one of them gets a few injuries and suddenly the Jets may find some deals.
As for Buff. I highly doubt he wants a trade. Heck, his hometown is 1 hour away. He's not about to shuffle off to Buffalo or California. He either comes back or is retired. IMHO he sabotaged the Jets with this whole indecision thing. Hard to be happy about it as a fan. |

That wouldn't help the Jets so no.
They don't lack small speedy wingers and Ceci is 4-5th D man. |

I'll take Ceci's contract and retain the max amount of Buff's contract, but the leafs have to trade Sandin to the Jets |

Bracco or Lillygreen with Ceci would do.
No to Sandman- he’s Kaberle low end, Salming high end. |
