Well he is the 1st coach we've had with legit NHL head coaching experience since Lavy. It's nice to have a guy who's already figured some things out and isn't learning on the job.

I totally get why they rolled the dice with Hak. It was a team who was awaiting young stars to come through the system. They could afford to take a chance with a guy and just weather the storm, and hey, maybe you get lucky with a future genius.

It just didn’t pan out that way.

Now that time is over. The youth movement is ready to go. The experiment didn’t work. It was time for a bone fide coach.

Absolutely no complaints about game 1. Inspired hockey all around aside from a couple miscues, and that’s gonna happen, especially early on (and in another country).

I am lookin at the top line, though, and seeing three great playmakers, but no dagger. They’ll score because the others will cue them up (maybe some pretty tic-tac-toe kinda goals), but then I look at line 2 and see two fine finishers.

Hayes and G look like a great match, but TK could rake with those two. Or maybe Coots goes back to centering G and Jake, and have Hayes, whose finesse for a big man is quite impressive, set up TK?

Hey, I trust AV to figure it out, and you don’t mess with something that works, but to me I see the top line as three dudes who successfully feed their teammates, and the 2nd having two guys who can put the puck in the net. Why not mix that up a little

I’m hoping that after a little AHL time, Farabee will be that injection. Let him get his legs with the Phantoms a bit, and then bring him up. He belongs on the top 6.

Since you stated you’re not complaining and since I’m not complaining because we did win, I’ll just say this sounds reasonable.

Yeah, it’s just an observation. As of now, if it ain’t broke...

I was very happy with the product I saw yesterday. They controlled from start to finish, and the passing and all around movement was something we’ve missed for awhile now.

Big thumbs up to game 1!

All the kids on the phantoms should be there. There was a shift where ratcliffe and his line were hemmed in their zone for about a minute and a half. It got me thinking of that ever happened to him before.

Strome does not even have AHL feet

that would be a very Flyers thing, and is one of the reasons why i'm interested in seeing how A.V.s system looks against the Devils.

Speaking of clown shoes, folks, I am not a movie goer. I prefer home. That being said, Joaquin Phoenix puts on a once in a lifetime performance in Joker.

Go. It’s a slow burn, but he’s magnificent.

Go.
