I suppose with money committed to Wheeler, Laine, and Connor, Ehlers could be the odd man out. But with the Jets desperately in need of right defensive help, I can't imagine The Isles being a good trading partner. I'm not too sure how enticing Pulock or Mayfield is. And Boychuk is kind of yesterday's news. You'd have to assume there's a much better trade partner out there. Cough* cough* Ristolainen

Pulock is a decent piece, but it still doesn’t work to me.

For one, the Isles need him. He’s young, homegrown, and talented. You just don’t get rid of defensemen like that if you’re trying to build a team. They’re hard to replace.

Secondly, Pulock alone isn’t nearly enough on the Jets’ side. He’d have to come with a nice package or a 1st rounder. It would also show that the Jets are trying to rebuild, and I honestly don’t think they’re there right now. they don’t wanna let Ehlers go for future pieces. They’d want a bigger impact player on defense. It’s too early for the Jets to call it a season and look at a couple of years down the road.

In the end, I don’t think either team would be happy with the other as a trade partner. With what they each have, it would be a backwards step for both.

He’s a great player for you guys. Absolutely. I like Pulock.

But I think the Jets still feel the window might be open just the slightest, and want that impact piece now. Not sure I agree, but they almost have to think in that manner.

Ugh, so tired of Ehlers being mentioned in every rumor. He's Winnipeg's #1 play driver and if they were to trade him, they better be getting a boat load of talent back. Not even sure what that would be from NYI. Makes no sense.
