So you think that the GM's around the NHL are not capable of seeing what every poster on this board is seeing. That Gus is a great offensive player and power play QB, but he has no interest in playing D or maybe no understanding of playing D.
AND Gus is a rental for the remainder of the season.
I think people on this board will be highly disappointed in how the Gus saga turns out. - -Doh-
Kimmo brought two #2's, and he hadn't played in a year. And was 145 years old. |

The Hartman trade is hard to explain from the Predators side. They thought Hartman was being held back by Q, like Strome was being held back in Arizona. Turns out they were very wrong.
I hope you they get that kind of return for Gus. - -Doh-
Speaking of bad trades, the Hawks in hindsight would never make the Timmo trade again. He and his terrible 5 minutes of ice time had nothing to do with winning the cup unless you count it forced Q to double shift his defense men and he got away with it. |

And yet... Erik Karlsson is considered a great defenseman and was signed to a huge contract this offseason?
I completely understand what you’re saying, but offensive defensemen in this league have a market - regardless of their defensive liabilities. |

Because of Mitchell and Bovquist as right handed defenseman are rated by the organization with greater upside than Joki, and you weren't getting rid of Seabrook's contract, the need was for a young forward with potential, not a young defenseman with potential.
They weren't trading Gus this offseason unless they were blown away, you have Murphy still, so I believe Joki would of played in Rockford this year, not as a #1 RD (Bovquist), his trade value wouldn't of increased, so he was an expendible asset that could be moved. It will take a few years to see if it works out for either team or not. - LAHawk
Pretty logical, why are you posting it here? |

But I thought his value was in being the Teuvo Teravainen whisperer?... |

I think he actually turned 146 a couple weeks after they traded for him though. |

San Jose signed Patrick Marleau, 1 year at $700,000.
Another missed opportunity for Bowman. |

He'll pot two against the Hawks. Just wait. I bet they play some rookie goaltender who shuts us out as well. |

Carolina - Florida:
Teuvo at the net for a tip-in.
Best player Bowman had to move out? Maybe Byfuglien.
Too bad something else couldn’t have been done to move out Bickell’s cap hit. |

He looked pretty slow last season. His contract is as bad as Seabrook's without the winning. |

Wow, SJ hand grenades the puck as bad as anything we’ve seen. Should be an entertaining game on Thursday. |

I don’t get to watch Erik Karlsson all the time, but the games I do see he consistently makes defensive gaffes. |

Nashville fans chant the goalie after an empty-net goal...
Stupidity personified. |
