WGR sports reporter Paul Hamilton has been shut out from traveling to Buffalo Sabres road games for the first time in recent memory.
Some discerning Sabres fans have noticed that Hamilton hasn’t been in Pittsburgh or Columbus for the team’s first two road games to do postgame interviews.
Hamilton declined comment and passed the question to Greg Ried, the local leader of Entercom stations. Ried hasn’t responded to an email or a telephone call.
However, Hamilton has told many people who have covered the Sabres that he has been pulled off the road because of a corporate Entercom edict to save expenses and he will work away games from the station’s studio...
...The company’s stock reportedly declined by 36% in August, with its acquisition of the CBS radio empire in 2017 being blamed for its problems. Entercom’s stock traded in the range of $15-$16 at the time of acquisition. At the time of the August report, the stock was trading at $3.36 a share. As of Tuesday, it was down to $3.08."

The maker of Fortnite may face a class-action lawsuit in Canada after two parents of teenage sons alleged last week the company purposely designed the multiplayer video game to be as addictive as cocaine, according to reports.
“The addiction to the game Fortnite has real consequences on the lives of players, many of whom have developed problems such that they do not eat, do not shower and no longer socialize,” the lawsuit states. “Moreover, rehabilitation centers specifically dedicated to addiction to Fortnite have opened all over the world, particularly in Quebec and Canada, to treat people for addiction.”

jfc I saw this too, can people no longer parent their children. If me and my friends were inside gaming too much my parents (or theirs) told us to go outside and do something else.
Parents sue companies now a days because they cant seem to raise their kids on their own.
Lawsuit is complete bs imo.

Itll be interesting to see what his role is. Not sure he'll even be on PK if he's just taking Sheary's spot. I'm hoping he gets more than the 9-10 mins Mitts is getting currently.
But yeah, it'll be fun to see |

sobotka is playing with an elite goal scorer and a historically average point producer and has done (frank) all offensively
the team is the least dangerous BY FAR when hes on the ice, even though he has good linemates
if you think this is defensible you are purposely being difficult - robz228
Hes not there for his offense, hes made multiple plays in the dzone and the ozone to keep plays alive or break up opposing rushes or plays, he is being physical and is good on faceoffs (which Mojo has not).
Hes not playing horribly, just because hes not scoring at a point per game pace doesn't mean hes not sueful out there. |

I would get: Thielen and Tyler Boyd

I think erod gets a legit chance to contribute tonight.
I like how he handled the shocking news of being a healthy scratch for game 1.
He could have asked me, I would have told him he's the 13th forward. I think he keeps reading your posts, thus the shock. 🤔 |

I was about to make a similar comment about how the Norris trophy is essentially now for the best offensive defenseman. - buffalofan19
And many on this board tend to use the same valuation system when evaluating D men, itbliterally comes out of their keyboards first. |

hes not scoring AT ALL
when he is on the ice the team scores at a considerably lower rate than when he is off the ice
what does the battle he won along the wall those 3 times matter at all if it never leads to anything because he is inept offensively?
if hes on your 4th line and takes key faceoffs, whatever, but he cannot be in your top 6 and contribute nothing offensively |

Some people can't comprehend this. It's kind of useless to try to talk about anything positive about certain players. If you don't use a chart to make a point it isn't true. |

That may not necessarily be "wrong", though. Possession is king in today's NHL (not that it ever wasn't, just more focused), and defensemen are playing a bigger role in that than they used to. |

and nobody is going to argue that sobotka isnt good defensively
the issue is that he is SO INCREDIBLY BAD OFFENSIVELY that despite how good he is defensively, the other team still is at an advantage when he is on the ice |

The problem is that being 60% on faceoffs does not mean he's doing a good job on the 2nd line. The bar needs to be set higher than "not puking on himself."
Which, in the offensive zone, is basically what he's doing |

I didn't copy that part, but it seems like that's not the issue:
"It also is unclear how much Entercom will be saving since Hamilton flew with the team as part of WGR’s rights deal to simulcast game coverage with MSG.
If the Sabres continue to do well, it wouldn’t be surprising if Hamilton returned to the road later in the season. For now, the extra time he will have because he isn’t traveling could free him up to do more coverage of the Buffalo Bills."
So it could be something as dumb as a per diem and the cost of a hotel. Like $300 a day. Times 41, I guess it adds up. |

Krueger says they won’t call up a forward from Rochester. Said they’d go 11F-7D in a pinch tonight if they had to. He wants the guys in Rochester to prepare for their games this week. If they need a guy it’s a short trip.

they would have to put sheary on ir, no cap space otherwise
pretty sure they can retro the IR date to yesterday, as Sheary would need to be on it for at least 7 days - homiedclown
IR still counts against the cap, just opens a roster spot. Since they already have an open roster spot, there's no need. They also would have the option of an emergency recall. To make cap room, they'd need to LTIR someone and there's ramifications to doing that.
I don't expect a call up.
