So apparently Bob MacKenzie said Gudbranson and JJ are both being shopped. |

Doesn't mean anyone will bite. Case in point - I have been trying to sell an old rusty Walmart grill for months now ... |

No, but Gudbranson being shopped is new, at least as far as I've heard. |

This sounds like he knows JJ's contract is like Mt Everest.....it's not going anywhere. Next man up is Guddy. |

I went to Hollidaysburg HS with Sam. Pretty wild stuff with seeing him on TV. Marino looked great. If you guys can’t complain about ZAR not finishing, don’t complain about Simon... |

He was pretty awful tonight. Dude’s got no puck skills. |

I'm sure tomorrows blog will have all the answers and excuses.
Either way, I didn't see much of Simon last year and he was very meh. Same with ZAR. If you're a RW fan boy you love them because they drive some bs stats but it doesn't matter they just kill opportunities. The Simon's and ZAR's of the league are a dime a dozen...id take a Tanev every day.
Fact is Malkin is 33 and past his prime. The window is pretty much about shut....They would have been better off blowing it up 2 yrs ago and rebuilding around 87 while they could. Now its just patch work. |

Curious what Gudbranson is worth. He certainly played well when he came over last season. I can't get too down on him while he's anchored to JJ.
I've already seen enough of Marino though to be fine with Marino/ruhwedel/rikkola bottom pairing.
They're talking about a dollar for dollar trade for a forward....which means we're going to get a poopty $4m forward.... |

Well it took Tanner Pearson to buy him so set your expectations low. I wouldn't expect Patrick Kane coming back.
Kahun has been a huge let down. |

I mentally noted 5 or 6 times he hit pens wingers with text book breakout passes and their tiny weak bodies couldn’t get the puck out. He turned and hit Crosby tape to tape in stride up the middle twice too. That’s just while I was watching. The pens wingers ability to get the puck out has been the issue. Small weak little creatures they are. I think I saw Laine bite Simons head clean off at one point. |

a change in scenery worked well for Neal. Rask did fairly well in Carolina before the trade I wouldn't mind trading for him. I would much rather JJ going the other way though |

I noticed Vanek is still available. Wonder if he has anything left? Never thought I'd be yearning for Brian Rust's silky hands on Sid's wing. - madmike71
I wouldn't mind signing Vanek to a deal. Pominville, Devante Smith-Pelly, Magnus Paajarvi, and Drew Stafford are also notable free agents.
Maybe a Gudbranson for Anisimov swap? Or maybe JJ, Gudbranson and a pick for Kovalchuk. |

I think you have to give this group some time to mesh... so many new faces in this lineup, not to mention the slew of injuries. Lots of opportunities last night, but absolutely no finish whatsoever. Hellebuk played a helluva game.
I thought Lafferty looked great, and I think Marino played well enough to stay. We'll just have to hope that a couple teams will convince themselves they can use older hats like JJ and/or Guddy… time to give the (cheaper) kids a chance to crack this lineup, Ruh and Rik included.
Still trying to figure out what Letang is doing out there (besides his own thing)... |

Does that make sense? I mean, what's the point? So we can forfeit another pick for an enforcer to protect Sid and Geno from Wilson? He's been pretty decent so far. I'm not sure what they think swapping contracts for a terrible forward would help? |

How many chances did ZAR miss last night? He had at least three
glorious chances that I saw. Dude has hands of cinder blocks. Much like DS |

Yes, JJ is the much preferred option. If it is Guds and Rask doesn't work out, it is another year longer at $4M per. A risk, for sure. And no one to ragdoll Wilson. |
