Charlie did an in depth breakdown of how the two rookies played in game 1.
https://theathletic.com/1...-sets-and-play-in-game-1/
By my completely subjective letter grading system, Twarynski averaged a 2.88 (between a B- and a B), while Bunnaman received a 2.05 (about a C) across all of their eventful shifts. Bunnaman was nowhere near underwhelming enough to justify an immediate return to the minors, and Twarynski has plenty of aspects of his game that need improvement.
But right now Twarynski looks the part of a fierce forechecker who possesses real offensive confidence with the puck on his stick, even if his creativity is a bit lacking and his puck skills aren’t exactly high-end. Bunnaman, on the other hand, is getting himself involved on the attack, and his newfound size/speed theoretically should boost the forecheck, even if he seemed a bit behind the play in Game 1.
Whether Bunnaman and Twarynski are able to build off their respective strengths while addressing weaknesses will ultimately determine if the rookies can stake out full-time spots in the Flyers’ lineup over the coming weeks and months. It’ll be a fascinating process to watch. |

Didn’t think either were bad but can we get JVR a better winger? - ClaudeFather
You could put him on line 2.... |

In case anyone was wondering, MacDonald and Schlemko are still currently without hockey teams according to EliteProspects.
But Lehtera is doing well in the KHL. |

Lol, their stance on China/Hong Kong. Reports are that a couple got kicked out of the sixers game last night for prom Hong Kong signs and some reports say they were cheering pron Hong Kong chants.
This comes after coming down on the Housten Rockets owner. Some times principle is more important than money. Seems the NBA doesn't think so. |

It will have the same long-term effect that the removal of the Kate Smith statue had. |

Funny how the NBA pulled the all-star game out of Charlotte over who can use what restrooms but wants to placate China so they do not lose billions of dollars. |

I think it's messed up that the NBA cracked down on an owner for his views on the situation. But at the same time, what we here in America say or think will have little to no effect on what's going on in Hong Kong. Also, dude should have known what was going to happen when he said that.
Anyone who didn't think China was going to abolish (at least majorily interfere with) the two systems agreement well before the established 40 year period was just being stupid. I'm actually surprised China didn't try to do away with it sooner. |

I only watch the first little bit of Devils and Jets game but I think Simmonds will do very well there. He looked like he belonged |

Only saw one period myself but thought he was skating better than he has the past few years here. I hope he does well and gets himself a contract. |

I believe the main point is supporting the people of Hong Kong wanting freedom and not supporting a communist country with extreme human rights violations that are still happening.
The NBA is putting their eggs in the basket of a potentially huge market. If the NBA had ignored the Housten Rockets owners tweet I doubt any of this is being discussed. |
