Nice stuff Sean hahaha, better get planning the parade eh? Blows me away when things finally start to go the right way, you Oil fans seem to find a way to bring that Karma broomstick right back up your arses. You guys never learn.

Thats fine, but again, I have no idea why a trade cant help both teams. But you may want to strain & try to remember the last playoff Oilers had & they did pretty good, in fact I thought they got jobbed by the officials in that Anaheim series myself. But what did they have going for them? They had Lucic, Kassian & Maroon playing at the top of their nasty selves games & opening up all kinds of space for their skilled players. Thats what I saw. The last 3 playoffs Flames have been in we have been so butter soft we were bounced quick. Lucic wont score the goals Neal will, geeze captain obvious, but Flames have a component we havent had for a long long time. I saw it in Ferland in the Vancouver playoff series but he couldnt keep it going against Anaheim because by then he had a concussion. So plan your parade, declare your victory in the battle of Alberta, but March /April will be when I start to see dividends in the trade. It already started when Lucic got into it with that puke Zadorov. One thing is for sure, Neal better play a little desperate, another year like last year & he wont be in the NHL.
Enjoy! Is there some cracker jack box medallion we can award you guys with?

I will definitely agree with this. Oilers got (frank)ed by the refs several times during that series.

As a Leaf fan living in Alberta for nearly 20 years, I thoroughly enjoy the battle of Alberta! I don't have any favourite in either the Flames or Oilers but here's to hopefully both teams having successful seasons and hopefully a playoff round matchup between ya! The battle of Alberta is vastly under rated and the league as well as our Canadian sports networks are too focus heavy on Eastern rivalries.

In German language we say "haughtiness comes before the fall", and at least Lucy has won more cups than the whole Oil roster together...

...but the start is impressive.

It's too early to celebrate imo but it's down right bizarre how much Flames media are trying to spin the trade as a positive at the moment.

its not really a spin...Lucic is more useful for what the Flames needed

Neal scoring with McDavid isn't really relevant to the Flames unless they are playing each other. It doesn't mean Neal would have just magically started scoring in Calgary.

Lucic has provided what they wanted so far and really the playoffs are what they got him for....long way away

"Regularly" which accounted for a whole 100 minutes over 60+ games = spoonfed? Seems like that term has lost the meaning it used to hold
- MaximumBone

Spoonfed meaning that he did not earn those minutes, they were "fed" to him to try and get him going. There were several players from last years team who should have been playing those minutes. Neal's awful contract and name were the only reasons he was given softer minutes on a consistent basis.

Using the minutes you've provided Neal spent 12.5% of the season with top line talent (100/800) and only managed to score 7 goals. When he returned from injury the Flames tried to get him scoring again, but by that point he was completely disengaged and pitiful to watch.

Edit: Low end (100/942) = 10.6% with top line talent

Buddy, Lucic is the reason you guys lose games. He’s nothing but a forward version of Phaneuf.

A third rounder to get rid of lucic is the work of genius but getting a guy who actually scores as well is icing...love how they try to squeeze lucic in every line to make it look less vomitable but he just gets penalties as per usual and play die on his stick...then u see Francis and other flames tard writers belch how lucic made this happen and that happen...you could get a guy do what lucic does for $700,000...tchapunk gets beat at his own game picks up his usual points in a loss, turtles, plays zero defence and he's all they talk about...itchy and scratchy lol...while we have the dynamic duo...trio...(thanks again treliving)...

Lucic 'getting into it with Zadorov' puts immense shame on the role of enforcers and fighting in the sport of hockey as a whole. He (frank)ing sucker punched a guy who wasn't even looking at him with his glove on. That is beyond pathetic.

If you like the physical, sometimes nasty nature of hockey, you should look at what Lucic did and you should be disgusted because pieces of poop like Lucic who sucker punch people Bertuzzi style are exactly why that physical aspect of hockey is going extinct.

I was super pissed off when this trade happened. I knew this was going to happen. Neal cancelled his golf vacations and trained very hard in the off season. I was very happy to hear that. Even knowing that Tre still traded him. It’s still early, but my guess is you guys will be laughing all the way to the bank for years to come.

- Flamin_Irishmin

It's only one guy and only three games...if Connor can't do it himself neither will Neal...we need our whole team just like anyone else...I break balls but at least u gave it an honest spin and I remember you saying this earlier in the year...

If all the Neal/lucic chirps 3 games in Piss off the hockey gods and they decide to turn the tables on us, you guys are to blame

They don’t usually allow us to have nice things. This is known.

So what you're saying is that the suffering of our lord Larsson isn't enough to appease the hockey gods?

I'm just happy for McDavid. Finally, he has someone other than Draisaitl to play with.

Besides Sean, I am very happy for the fanbase right now. You guys have suffered through an absolutely miserable decade. Hopefully, we have an epic season battling each other!!

More importantly it gives Nuge someone to play with....if this team has any chance of doing anything this year we will need that secondary scoring

In other news,

The Olofsson and Dahlin duo (and "Red Robin" Reinhart) are tearing new buttholes into teams and into poor Rafi.

If nobody knows this Olofsson dude yet, you will. You will.
