What else would the Sabres have to add.

Risto
For
Silfverberg, Sprong.

Could they Add Vesey into that to move him?

Add- I know it’s early but Vesey looks like he does not fit.

I get the buy low concept, I do.
For me, I'd rather offer up more value to try to secure 2 middle six players.

As much as I love the way Mojo is playing, I would rather try to secure a 2C and push Mojo to the RW. I'd also like to get another solid RW on the 3rd.

They have an abundance of LW and RhD's, package a couple and go get 'em.
I also realize they have Cozens and Tage in the wings...likely for next season...competition is a good thing.

Why not keep Mojo at center and still get that top 6 RWer?

Mojo and Skinner seem to have some chemistry building

Why would we trade a guy for Ho Sang? We could have had him for free?

The number of contracts come into play. GMs like to run at 48 or 47 to retain flexibility.
Only thing I can think of besides they don't want the headache.

Ho-Sang wouldn't be my target so I get what you're saying there

Just the thought of being able to get someone semi useful and clear up some cap space sounds like a concept that Botts should be looking at when the time is right.

Looking at the cap situations across the league, that's going to be very tough to pull off.

Yes, I don't disagree with this at all. The move could/probably should be beneficial in more than one way. Upgrading a position of weakness and clearing up a bit of space on the cap would be awesome. But, also easier said than done.

Johansson moved to wing for the Capitals because they were deep at center. I can't remember the makeup of New Jersey by the time he got there, but Boston was deep there as well. He always had the ability to play the center position and play it well, as evidenced by his play so far.

They do, and I am not saying it isn't working...just the low faceoff percentage is the primary issue and I swear it is the only reason Sobtka is there. I know, I know faceoffs don't matter...until they do. I would hope Mojo and Skinner could keep their chemistry going with Mojo on the wing.

I think it's that simple. They would have had to send another player down to make room, but I think that's secondary here.

Sabres add nothing.

Silverberg is a decent player. Problem is he's just decent. 40/45 point player.
And Sprong just passed through waivers if I'm not mistaken. So could have been had for free.
