All in all Ben, I think the team in front of him was way to soft. Agree the 2nd goal was on him but all the rest he was moving from on side of the net to the other and a tic tac toe passing play where he shouldn鈥檛 be to blame.

Let鈥檚 hope the team steps it up for The Canes because if they don鈥檛 The Canes will embarrass them as did The Oilers.

I agree... but if you want to see a team play soft you should watch the Devils. Holy cow are they soft. When I saw them grab Subban, Hughes, and simmonds (and a Healthy Hall) I actually thought there were going to be incredible this year. Their defense looks incredibly soft.. I know it's early but wow. (I hope it continues for rest of year).

I think they win tonight. Canes are 4-0 and swept us last year. My guess is they will be heavily motivated to play this game. (and I am guessing Greiss gets the look).

My point is its game 4 and no need to panic. If they cant get it together im sure Lou will address it. Calling game 4 a must win is a bit of a stretch. What do you call game 70? Life or death?

Well yeah...that's kind of what second line players are. There's only a small handful of teams that have first line talent playing on the second line. Of course I'd like to see the Isles become one of them, but that typically involves some draft luck and patience.

The isles have not been a threatening team for years. Bailey and Nelson were part of many islander teams that were sub par. Perhaps they are part of the problem?

I have to disagree, the loss of J.T. has hurt them on the PP and also 5v5 as far as offense and his production/threat hasn鈥檛 been replaced. Just his presents on the roster frees up others on the ice by the opponents keying on him.

I get what your saying but if you lose games in the beginning of the year then game 70 could mean absolutely nothing. Teams in PO positions by Thanksgiving typically make the POs and good starts usually are key.

Your last post yes. Every game is a big deal really. As Islander fans we should all know that. It鈥檚 only four games in so no it鈥檚 not the end of the world like Kindy is saying BUT there seems to be some issues that need to be ironed out ASAP or it WILL be the end of the world(season) before you know it. No games should be taken lightly.
I鈥檓 hoping Lameriello is really trying to find some offense out there somehow because this team needs it. Period.

It's obviously not impossible for it to happen, but I think we're past the point where we may have seen a "major" acquisition. I wouldn't expect a whole lot until the deadline or the summer.

9 years with Tavares and what did they accomplish. One could argue they did better last year without him.

I agree unfortunately. Not upgrading our offense in any way during the off-season to me is a huge miss on Lameriello鈥檚 part. We鈥檙e seeing the by product of that. I鈥檒l know this will be met with the usual he tried for panarin and it didn鈥檛 work out etc. I get it I like Lameriello I鈥檒l also add but not getting it done is not getting it done. Anything else is an excuse.

I still think we see a move to upgrade the offense soon.

Also, Cizikas didn't skate this morning after a "maintenance day" yesterday, so thinking Dal Colle and Kuhnhackl might both be in while Casey's out. Or at least they might be preparing for that possibility if Cizikas can't go by game time.

wow.. That's actually very cool if true. Do what you are supposed to or take a seat. Accountability at it's finest. Now let's see which forward takes a seat. My call is Brassard.

Eh, maybe not! I guess Leddy might be banged up, too:

Barry Trotz indicates both Casey Cizikas and D Nick Leddy will be game-time decisions. Said since Leddy did not skate yesterday, he stayed out late today for some extra work.

Maybe the issue is that he's being traded for more offense
