It's not so much the number of shots vs the number of quality chances.

But yeah, overall we agree.

I thought Weber played overall a good game but, as you said, he had moments where he got overwhelmed by faster players.

And now a lot of people are panicking because they think either Weber is injured, or if not has suddenly lost a big step in his game because of old age

He was not so good at the end of last season.

Nashville traded him at the right time.

You and others have to accept it. The game is getting faster while Weber is going the other way.

He will be better (let's hope so) as a 2nd pair defenseman.

Give more minutes to Petry.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think he'll be fine

What have I accepted? That the team is better with Weber than Subban? That Weber is the ideal captain for a young team and an unbalanced defense? That he played at a 45+ point and just under 20 goal pace last year? That in 3 games he has 2 apples and is a +1 in 3 road games despite fans almost wanting to say "see, I told you he's slowing down".

What I've accepted is that since the trade was made every knowitall fan has wanted to say the game passed Weber by and every year he's proven them wrong.

I'm also not new to watching NHL hockey and have accepted that long time vets tend to start slower knowing how much the season entails. So, as I said...give it until about 20 games in. Many trends in the first 20 games tend to be mirages

He lost a step a few years ago.

Also, I'm not panicking as much as commenting as what I think is going on.

oh I wasn't necessarily referring to you, but while I don't like what I see, and while I'm aware he's not getting any younger, I still think he's a smart enough player to make the necessary adjustments

Penalties and a poor pk more or less. Eichel looking much better. That said, 3 road games...all uneven play...which makes sense with both a lot of youth and just the general fact it's the start of a long season and kinks need to be worked out. That said they came back in all 3 games, didn't lose in regulation once, beat the apparent juggernaut that is the Leafs in TO...but some fans want to make dramatic declarations on the team captain because this is the internet
