Voracek a right winger has been the single reason three players aren’t producing at even strength?

I’ll meet you in the middle. JvR-Hayes-Giroux

- SuperSchennBros

It's been two games let's slow down that narrative

Last game G hit a post and missed an open net at even strength. Hayes also missed an open net. The chances are there so let's stop this narrative that they're getting crushed

Regarding d Corp being improved over last season, one play summed it up for me. Nisky retrieved the puck at center ice and was skating alone towards his zone. There was one or two Devils in pursuit. Instead of panicking and rushing a blind pass, he calmly skated the puck away from defenders and connected on a pass and got out of trouble. Little play that went unnoticed but huge improvement over last season.
- cdearth23

Agreed...

On Hagg, I thought he had a good game, he still tends to just clear the puck but I love his snarl and how he takes the body. A devil ran a Flyer, I watched Hagg put a body on him the rest of the night, he made sure to do it....

IF he continues to play this way, his value and create better options for the Flyers, staying or going

agreed. it will be interesting to see if Morin gets in when facing a bigger or more physical team. Not saying hagg isn't physical, he is. Morin will throw down though.

It's only two games, but so far this team is much more fun to watch. They move and they seem to have heart out there. The past two seasons it was like watching a heartless team stuck in glue.

What does it take for Morin to get a chance in there and do the Flyers hold onto him?

It was a brain fart, i'm not sure why people can't leave it at that. I highly doubt he gets that penalty ever again, give it a rest.
- ClaudeFather

Give it a rest? I mentioned it once. This is only game two, and I'm watching the new guys more closely. I agree that he may not ever do this again. But, I'm watching out for more "brain farts". I'm hoping dumb penalties won't be a trend, another Hartnell... Sure he was good, when he wasn't in the box. Although, I just looked at Hayes history of PIM... It is low.

My favorite thing about being at the game last night was the atmosphere in the building in the final minute or so of the 2nd period. With every save or clear on that 5 on 3, the WFC got louder and louder that it almost felt like a playoff game. Loved every second of it.

dumb penalty yes......the man has a total of like 104 PIMs over 383 games. If you break that down it's like one penalty every 7-8 games

IMO, when we play a bigger team like wash, during b2b's maybe. This west coast trip he may get a game in......

Embarrassing for whom? How happy with your life can you possibly be, if your main objective today was to pick the same fight this morning, as you did last night with a faceless stranger on the internet? You clearly pay more attention to me, than me you if you know my age...

There is no narrative. I asked if it was something any of you would consider and you gave your answer. I think your answer is fair.

Question for all: If you could go back to 2000, would you still do the Brindy for Primeau trade?
- jmatchett383

Still to this day... go to google start typing "eric lindros rod brin..." what pops up first is "eric lindros rod brind'amour wife" At the time, it seemed that it was either Lindros or Brindy... with hidesight, I would have traded Lindros for Primeau plus and keep Brindy. Brindy's career from points to longevity, to achievements was better than Lindros after the trade. Primeau, Brindy, as one-two centers would have worked.

Yes, I agree. That's why I wrote, his PIM is low.

That was a extremely dumb penalty... the timing couldn't have been worse. Hart and the boys bailed him out.

Yes, and now it is give it a rest time.

I actually remember the deal like it was yesterday. Eric Lindros was that much of a force that no team would ever choose Brindy over Lindros.

This question is really hard to answer knowing what we know today.

I could ask the same of you whining about preseason games. You find a new thing to cry about on an almost daily basis, but I’m the one unhappy with life.

If Hagg is our #6 dman, then we are in really good shape. I agree that pairings are more important than ranking them 1-6 but, let's be honest, Hagg or Morin are no more than our 6/7 guys. Ghost (#5) still looks timid, like he is afraid to get hit. Not sure how long a dman can go with avoiding contact.

That urban legend swirls every few years around every team, and it is seldom true (except for rare cases such as Catherine Janney leaving her husband for Brendan Shahanan and marrying him). The Jeff Carter-Scott Hartnell version, identical to the Lindros-Brind'Amour, Mathieu Schneider-Patrick Roy and other fill-in-the-blank sets of teammate and teammate's spouse are all as fake as Mikey the Life cereal kid dying from Pop Rocks urban legend and the Eddie Murphy/Richard Pryor/Dave Chapelle/fill-in-the-blank black comedian "hit the floor" elevator tale.

The Hurricanes weren't offering valuable enough components in addition to Primeau to make the trade for Lindros worth the Flyers while.
