He did have a good game overall, it was just kind of comical how obvious the penalty was. His hand was the only thing anywhere near the puck.
- Feanor

Honestly it was just a reaction play.

lindblom adds another layer of difficulty for the opposing line to play against and make Coots that more effective because he doesnt have to cover for 2 wingers
- KINGKENZO

I agree. Reading through the blog, Lindblom isn't getting mentioned a lot but he is playing really well. He is all over the puck in all 3 zones and playing with pace.

Nope. That 5OT goal was tremendous, but Brindy should have retired a Flyer.

“Just be a FN Flyer”

Man I love that quote. The coaching staff has the boys buzzing.

Also, gotta give Fletcher some props. Two games passed but this is a solid team we are watching.

Power rankings had Pitt over Philly. Not seeing that through the first few games. Guess not a big enough sample size yet but Pitt is in trouble as of now.

dumb penalty yes......the man has a total of like 104 PIMs over 383 games. If you break that down it's like one penalty every 7-8 games

He's on pace for 164 minutes this year.

Once Patrick returns Bunnaman or Twarinski will be sent down.

Then we may see Patrick centering Raffl and Pitlick until he gets fully up to speed.

Twarynski has been a pleasant surprise to me, not putting up points but looking like he sure belongs up in the NHL

I like his game so far. No points yet but only played 11 minutes each night. Last night he create a rebound and had a nice pass to jvr in the slot. If that continues JVR will pot some rebounds. It's early yet so who knows if he can sustain the pace. But he does look strong so far and love how active his stick and legs have been.

It’s a good start but that’s it no more no less. We’ve seen this team put together a few times a solid month of hockey under hakstol. They won’t get me excited until they can establish this play over the bulk of a season. Plenty of teams with changes and new coaches have hot starts. With this group of leaders they’ve never been able to find consistency. Time will tell

I don't disagree but what you have to look for is how the team plays. Is their style of play a way to win consistently. Puck support is one indicator of that. As well as puck pressure when they don't have the puck. Do they get outnumbered on the puck. That style of play is sustainable through injuries and key player injuries to remain competitive throughout a season. Rather than being a team that relies on one or two player to carry a team offensively or a hot PP to win. That's not sustainable especially against the better teams.

Would you have been this tempered or measured in your response if they had lost both of these games?

That urban legend swirls every few years around every team, and it is seldom true (except for rare cases such as Catherine Janney leaving her husband for Brendan Shahanan and marrying him). The Jeff Carter-Scott Hartnell version, identical to the Lindros-Brind'Amour, Mathieu Schneider-Patrick Roy and other fill-in-the-blank sets of teammate and teammate's spouse are all as fake as Mikey the Life cereal kid dying from Pop Rocks urban legend and the Eddie Murphy/Richard Pryor/Dave Chapelle/fill-in-the-blank black comedian "hit the floor" elevator tale.

The Hurricanes weren't offering valuable enough components in addition to Primeau to make the trade for Lindros worth the Flyers while.

Been around a long time. Still gets told as if it really happened to someone the storyteller knows (and the listener can't easily verify) https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/hit-the-floor/

The Hockey News Ryan Kennedy did a top 100 College prospects to watch and we have 7 that made the list. He also rated the Flyers as the best overall prospect pool for all NHL teams. Here are the individual rankings and the quick blurb he wrote…

7. Cam York, D, Michigan: A top-end puckmover drafted by Philadelphia, York was coveted by numerous NHL teams. But the Wolverines get first crack at his services
12. Wade Allison, RW, Western Michigan: Injuries have bedeviled him the past two seasons in Kalamazoo, but now the farmboy-strong Philadelphia pick gets a chance at redemption.
13. Bobby Brink, RW, Denver: Another Philadelphia pick, Brink comes into Denver with a load of offensive tricks and he can really make a line sing.
27. Wyatt Kalynuk, D, Wisconsin: A surprise offensive weapon his first two seasons with the Badgers, Kalynuk is a Philadelphia pick who will help lead the back end again.
39. Noah Cates, C, Minnesota-Duluth: Incredibly smart and driven, Cates is a Philadelphia pick coming off a very accomplished freshman season that ended in a title
45. Tanner Laczynski, C, Ohio State: Tough to play against, the Buckeyes senior and Philadelphia pick could put up some monster numbers this year.
76. Ronnie Attard, D, Western Michigan: A record-setting scoring defenseman in the USHL, Attard joins the Broncos overripe. The Philadelphia pick will contribute right away.
