Our bounty is even more than $1,000 but I could care less as winning this league means MUCH MORE than that to me.

We've got pro hockey writers, multiple CEOs and one CFO, TWO Goldman Sachs execs, people from Rotowire and CBS Sportsline (they are one team but...) all in the league.

I have played (and been the commissioner in the past) in this league for 20 years now. The format is great (up to 13 keepers with a salary cap of $330, a minor league roster of 4 guys etc...) as it forces you to really build a franchise for the long haul. I drafted McJesus at 16 years old. I tanked for both Hughes brothers last year. I got my grimy hands on Matthews. None of that has been enough for me to win either. Perhaps this year?

That's funny. Ours is more like $1500 or so, I can't recall. It's more about the fun and trashtalk.

But we also have a few hockey writers.

It's good fun. We used to have no rules about how young you could draft guys for farm team. One guy drafted Tavares at like 14 (it's been running many years). Another guy drafted one of the other GMs kids, just to stick it to him.

Do we believe that Carter Hart is the answer?
He has been the chosen one every since he was drafted... nothing has changed
he is the most talented goalie we have ever seen in a Flyer uniform...
now lets see if he can be the most successful one

Pelle Lindbergh may have had something to say about that, he was pretty amazing.

Bernie Schmernie. What about Pelle? Flavour of the day with Ek. I'm sure Roman Cechmanek was once Ek's favourite Baskin Robbins flavour too.

Flyers fans all triggered over nothing.

Nothing... like the number of Cups that your team has won.

When you have won as much as the Flyers (second winningest team behind MTL since 1967) then you can throw stones. In the mean time....

What we saw last night was a goalie at a CRITICAL TIME in the game make a save that changes the momentum of the entire game.

It has been a long time since we had a goalie like that.

I miss Pelle BTW. I caught a puck at that game the night before (he didn't play). I was a kid and lived NOT too far from that Bennegans in Voorhees at the time. I remember my Dad telling me what had happened and it wasn't OK. I might have been 11.

And BTW: 911 Turbos are crazy fast. I had one (a 1997) and it was pretty much too fast. Driving it drunk would be a good way to kill yourself. Hell, mine didn't even have a cup holder. It has gone up $200,000 in value since I sold it (I am an idiot) however...

Will go down as one of the best of the season?

It's game 4 isn't it? Nice save but to predict its one of the best in the season at game 4 or whatever, is reaching a bit. If Hart makes another good save, in maybe game 5, EK will be championing that Hart is a Vezina candidate.

Come on, dude! They're on pace for 82-0. And James Neal is looking at 164 goals too.

Who cares about regular season success? It's all about the Cups and it's been 44 years since your last cup win. Sure regular season wins are great but nobody remembers them.....they only remember the Cups!

I mean, I stated my opinion, and get some moron telling me I have no ability to convert 2D images to 3D, over and over and over.

It's arguable to me. It's really damn close. That seems to really put a burr in some little pissant's saddle. It is what it is.

- prock

But you are arguing a dumb point. It wasn't even close enough for Toronto to do a video replay of it.

It wasn't a goal, plain and simple. Nothing to argue about, nothing to get female dogy about. The call on the ice was that a save was made, and no goal happened. That is what is in the books, and the replays they showed during the game last night, clearly shows that the glove and puck where no where close to being behind the line.

Then you female dog about guys responding to you continuing to argue about it.

Maybe worry about your team playing a complete game, and not quitting when they have a penalty called against them.

It's Philly. Hart will struggle, they will trade him for peanuts and then he will have a great career. Isn't that the whole reason Philly is even in the league?

The Carter Hart save was spectacular. You got to have great reflexes and an element of luck to make that kind of save. Fact is only great goalies make their own luck. All the negatives on this topic are simply jealous fans who are not Flyers fans and some who just like to harass Eklund. Anyway, go Flyers, see ya in Vancouver Saturday!

I'm very jealous. I'm still wondering why Ken Holland drafted Givani Smith over Carter Hart. Hart was picked right after him.

What was truly impressive with that save is he didn’t cheat towards Hall. He stayed squared up with Hughes until the puck left his stick. If he didn’t, Hughes has a clear shot. It was a 5 on 3.

Those were some stellar reflexes.

He had another fantastic save with just under 2 minutes left in the 1st, too. If his glove wasn’t so wicked with the flashy one everybody is talking about, this one would have gotten some attention, too

The kid stays flush with the shooter. He’s shown a pretty high IQ with that.

I expect some people aren’t giving him his due because
1) Flyers
2) Ek
Both are popular to rip on. I get it. It’s a thing, and not completely undeserved.

I hear ya - Pelle was the man... I woke up early one morning to watch and find out the score of the game from the night b4.... as it went by line by line (technology back Then) It said Pelle Lindbergh and I thought it was going to say was named player of the week/month... and yeah was unreal.

Gone up 200K who knew?

It's only arguable if you lack the ability to interpret 3D space in a 2D image.

It really wasn't close, and it's not arguable. If it was "incredibly close" they would have looked at it. If you still disagree...well, I don't know what else to tell you.

It’s like we can’t have nice things, and everyone knows it.

But to be fair, it’s not like we’ve had a bunch of highly touted young goalies come up through our system and fail. We haven’t had many period.

We get lots of middling types who come up, and FAs. Players like Esche, Snow, Chico, Roussel, etc.

Our decent guys have basically been Bernie, Hextall, and Pelle. Cechmanek had a brief stint. No wonder we’re excited for Hart...
