The only thing Botts could really do is move Ristolainen for a 2C/2RW. As of now he has been reluctant to do so. With our current cap situation any improvements made to the roster would have to be dollar in and dollar out. Is Hutton/Ullmark could enough to steal a playoff series or even backstop us to the playoffs ? That’s the Achilles heal of the team right now.

It's pretty plain you haven't ever had to negotiate a business deal.

There are lots of different ways to skin a cat.

Slow poke is still in the line up?
I meant the Sabres in general, haven't seen a game yet.

Sheary is week-to-week (from a couple days ago), so have to imagine Rodriquez is in again, they said they did not want to call anyone up from AHL at this time.

There is only one way to do a deal... It's my way or the road less traveled.

More Dahlin and Skinner bashing....

WTF is going on in here?

You'd think they were 0-3-1 instead of 3-0-1

I miss the Sobotka bashing days...

If anything he is the one slowing this team down especially being on the 2nd line

In my defence, I didn’t bring the topic up. However I will continue to defend my viewpoint over the duration of his contract.

Sure, but there are only so many ways to skin a cat in this particular instance that makes realistic sense in order to get a top 6 forward that pushes us closer to contending status with the state of our cap situation. Moving Risto is the one that makes the most logical sense. Unless we are packaging up (Sobotka, Scandella, Sheary, Bogo) with premium draft capital/prospects to bring in that said player which I’m not sure many NHL teams would sign up for nor should we attempt.

It wasn’t dahlin bashing ...... I said he had a bad game on Wednesday and then it turned into dahlin sucks and it’s doom and gloom. End of the world type stuff

I highly doubt Risto alone gets a worthwhile 2C, which is what I believe they need for the next 3 years. So, in a ll likelihood, they would still need to package another attractive piece to acquire said talent. Furthermore, It would need to be money in / money out, making it very complex and difficult to do, not impossible though. I don't anticipate such a deal to be forthcoming until mid/late December, unless a team is absolutely desperate. Winnipeg could be that team...but are they willing to deal their 2C?

2c because Mitts is developing very slowly, Johansson is playing great but can't win a face-off, which still matter contrary to belief of some. Cozens is still 3 years away from having that important job thrust upon him.
2c for Skinner, push Johansson to wing... the chemistry with Skinner can continue to grow and hopefully spread across all three.

Risto won't get a 2C.
Mitts is developing slowly.

BUT

Mojo has done well
Cozens will play center next year and do just fine. 2 years from now he takes Mojos spot.

So yesterday was bash Dahlin day for leading the NHL in points from the back end.

I see today is bash Skinner day for being on pace for 60 goals despite being saddled with Sobotka.

This is classic Buffalo. The 'problem' with the team is always Ryan Miller isn't elite enough. Vanek didn't quite get to 40. McGahee has a bad attitude. Eric Moulds uses his body to catch the ball. Ryan OReilly has no heart. Reinhart is a bust.

This city always blames the best player for not being quite as good as another team's best player, instead of being willing to acknowledge that the problem isn't the type of good player you have, the problem is you don't have enough of them.

- matty12345

Every other team's best player is better than your team's best player Matty!! Don't you know this! .....until....he's on your team and you watch him every shift/play every game. LOL

The facts here are
There were only 3 games for scouts to choose from that night.

Corrected for accuracy. That is the only fact you stated. The rest is pure speculation and your opinions.

Sick of reading about Dahlin and Risto, certainly don't want to write another post about them. So how about the goalies?

Do we have a preference who starts tonight? Has Hutton been hot, and if so, do you go with the hot goaltender? Or, did Ullmark play well enough against Columbus to earn a start tonight?

Personally, I would like to see Ullmark start tonight even though I thought Hutton had a great outing against Montreal given the number of super high quality chances we gave up. I would like to see more of a split schedule for as long as it makes sense so that either goalie can be the go to if they get hot down the stretch when its crunch time. Ullmark earned it Monday night, give Hutton the weekend off.

Just curious, with the exception of ROR, who is still one of my favorite players in the league, what did these guys win after they left Buffalo?
Also, if Risto does get traded and wins the Cup elsewhere will you include him on your next list of players ran out of town because posters here that know less about hockey than they think they do said he had a "low hockey IQ"?

there are many ways to skin a cat:
1. boil it in water and peel it off
2. knife
3. hatchet
4. chemicals
5. grab and start pulling

and you can repeat all of those with both live and dead.

Watch the series either way. It's worth the time investment. Great show.
- HonkFortheGoose

I bailed on it during it's prime time run halfway through season 2

This summer, after being told countless times it got better ones you hit season 3, I watched it over the summer

That series finale was outstanding
