They haven't been playing well, but it's only October.

There are plenty of bad teams that play well, and good teams that play poorly in October. I am just hoping Buffalo doesn't fall victim to that.

This game might be decided by which team takes less penalties. FL pk has been iffy, as well. But their PP is also very dangerous. Dueling 68s with 1timers from the circle.

I think Scadella has been the best D man in our end so far

he has made some bad moves too.. not sure he has been the best. in reality i don't think any one d man has stood out as terrible in their own end yet this year other than dahlin when he was dead tired a couple times

you have a better chance right now of seeing a reinhart or casey trade then risto

and he is not shopping them either

2.5 goals per game 5v5 isn’t too bad IMO. Wondering how that ranks league wide?

I've said multiple times that I don't think Botts is looking to do much this year with how much more flexibility they'll have next year.

Sobotka, Bogo, and Scandella all will come off the cap and I can't see them resigning any of those 3 guys (or at least, I guess I would hope that they wouldn't).

I wonder if there is a way to make a deal with Bogo if the Sabres eat some salary and take some back.

To me, if you Risto was moved, you would be looking at an aging forward (1-2 years left at a decent cap hit, but not worth his play), 1st round pick and / or top forward prospect. I dont think you see a 1 for 1 trade consisting of a ~25 year old Center / forward. Who has that much forward depth they could make that and think they are improving?

Mid / end of summer it could have been for an RFA that did not want to sign with his team, but not midseason. Even the teams with an upcoming RFA still has time to sign the player, so I doubt that trade would happen during the season.

They have so many D if they all are healthy. They have to make a move there.
