I do have a feeling as long as everyone stays healthy, which is far from a guarantee, they will not be rushing Montour back.
- buffalofan19

No need to. Same with Bogo, though he's not due back any time soon anyway. I know that typically in injury situations teams feel like they need to rush the issue because you'd optimally like your "best" players out there. But if what you're going with is working there's no need to do that right now. It's a loooooooooooooong season though. It's inevitable that someone else (or multiple) go down anyway.

Excellent article and kudos for the well played Reuben Kinkaid reference. Pach must be an old guy like me.

I agree with MP. If you like advanced stats solely, you only played intermural sports and were probably picked last (which explains the negativity).

Soon I'd expect. He walked the line twice that I remember last night and the shot either got through or was close. Just need the right screen. Seems like he's looking back door or deflections most of the time.

He's not a scorer, but if we keep feeding the point from down low like we are, he'll get chances.

I would hope in the next 5-10 games, while notching a few assists along the way.

Ah yes, he's looking for the back door or deflections. He's the shiny new toy, so it couldn't possibly be that he doesn't have very good accuracy.
Not meant to be a dig at you, but in general on this board.

He's not a sniper, agreed. Still, he's had his chances and a few have been close, so still think there's a possibility he breaks the streak soon.

A lot of assumptions there lol. I like advanced stats and regular unadvanced stats for what they are worth, which is to say they are a great tool but can't tell the story on their own. I'm not obsessed with them by any means.

I really, really, REALLY want to like Risto, but man he went full out Risto with trying to clear the puck up the middle leading to the 2nd Montreal goal. Bit of a bad bounce but hard around the boards is all ways a better play then trying to clear up the middle.

One of the first things that they teach you in Soccer/Hockey is when you're in the D Zone never clear the puck / ball through the middle!

I hope soon. I have his fantasy card in NHL. (also the main reason i dont want him sent to the AHL)

Yet, it's a common thing to do in the NHL, not just with the Sabres. Elite players can often get away with it much more often. Amateurs can't.

Yup, 100 percent correlation there, lol.
Reread the article, momentum isn't an advanced stat last time I looked.

There are few who use Adv Stats solely, rather in conjunction with, and to support what the eye sees.
Those who choose to ignore AS are rather ignorant and probably never played a sport, nor understand how to improve winning percentages.

So you were picked last for the dodgeball games, it's okay, put the WAR charts down.

(I'm kidding)
