What would having physical players do in tonights game to all the people saying we need those players? This outcome would happen to any team that doesn't skate against what people consider the best in the league, why the (frank) are we surprised at this result? - harps43
It’s not just about goons, it’s about finishing your check and playing hard defensive hockey which this team seems to have no idea how to do… When the playoffs begin that is what hockey is all about we all know there’s a different set of rules when that starts you cannot win with all skill |

You take out Kessel Blozak and a few others and insert Matthews, Tavares, Willy, and Marner...?? - Hockey_Reverend

Emotions aside, Tampa is just a better team... maybe not in 3 years but right now...
We have a great offense but theirs is better.
Our defense is serviceable but theirs is better.
Freddy is usually great but so is theirs.
And their management is better at signing players at reasonable terms. - gamerdoc

So this team not skating and losing to a good team means we need to get guys to finish their checks because if they aren't skating we for sure wouldn't be losing to the best team in the league? Gotcha

I swear to god some of you people have never actually watched a hockey game.
(frank) man, maybe the New Zealand All Blacks should follow the TML template and just have a bunch of speedy (frank)ers zipping around on the field? I mean, the game has been played for 100 years the same way, so why not completely change it up? Why not try having people <5 feet play in the NBA too? Maybe it’ll be a cool new trend! |

Defensive hard hockey. Have you seen our team swing the sticks around in our end and not taking the body? Do you think that wins hockey? It has nothing to do with having a poor game or not skating it’s simple defence hockey ...take the body |

If you guys didn't see this coming then you guys didn't read the writing on the wall. All day the media were going on and on how bad the lightning were playing and how Stamkos ripped his team a new on. Soon as I heard that this morn I just knew. It's what the leafs do. |

I cant see Orr/McLaren being an upgrade on anyone on the team right now. Mark Fraser in his peak could probably replace Holl though. I'd do it. |

The Leafs have created this whole new environment, both contractually and the style of play, that just doesn't exist. It's really bizarre. |

I expect Dubas to make a minor trade to shake things up.
Something like Marchment for Gerbe |

Hey, whatever you think about those big boys, they were not the reason we team lost... it was the top end guys, especially on the back end... |

No shame in losing to a better team... despite our hopes and dreams, we are just not as good as Tampa. Simple as that. Physical players won’t help tonight’s game. For all our skilled players, their skilled players are simply better at their job.
Marner thought he’s one of the best (top 5) in the league and so did Dubas. He’s so clearly not. Not even close. |

Fire Dubas. Should’ve drafted a big, tough guy like Biggs. |
