Stylistically that's not who they are. It's also not who Tavares and Marner are. I can appreciate a well executed cycle, but I don't find it exciting or even good hockey - it's pretty boring. It is winning hockey, though, because you force the puck along the wall, and keep it there until you can generate a scoring chance. The worst case is that it eats the clock when you're ahead.

I expect, to your point, that a good argument is that having one line, at least, that can effect this style of play would be beneficial. I wouldn't argue that. I think we'll see better balance once Hyman is back and Kapanen moves to the 3rd or 4th line (I'd be reluctant to change the 3rd line, and I think Kapanen being sprung by Spezza could work well - especially against the opposition's 4th line).

I don't think that's always true.. thinking about the Detroit Russian 5 for example.. those guys were a delight to watch when in the offensive zone.
I guess different people prefer different type of hockey styles -

He’s played well this year, but he’s a floater for sure...always the farthest from his own net...no wonder he was so many zone exits and entries...hanging out at the redline.

Hey where’s Pat the Homer?

Wondering if he’s ready to admit that Rielly/Ceci are struggling? Or will he have more excuses...

There is no roster in the league less suited to its coach or vice versa, than Leafcock.

To my eyes, the Leafs didn't look that bad last night.

Tampa Bay looked franking scary.

Drac wouldn’t have given up a first rounder to get rid of (one year) of a serviceable Marleau.

Waddell took Dubas to the woodshed lol.
