They got 105 points.
That would have to be super-duper lucky. - Atomic Wedgie
They got some of the best goaltending in league history. It was obscene. The Canes were beat to hell by the Caps and playing like poop and STILL swept the Isles as soon as their goalies slipped a little bit. |

I'm tempted to agree. But I won't call them lucky.
They won't get the same godlike goaltending they did last season.... and it will be their downfall.
They'll miss the playoffs but not by a whole bunch imo. - Scabeh
They're an 85 point team unless Barzal goes full superman mode. |

He is overpaid but he is a good player. He was dominate in the NJ game. His play without the puck is great. He's never going to be a point per game player but 60-65 points seems reasonable from what I have seen from him so far. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
It's not that Hayes is a bad player. He can be quite effective.
I do think he'll help Philly. Quite alot actually.
It's just hard to feel good about a 7.1M player who's career high is 60 points, which was an unexpected 11 points jump from 2 years prior. |

I would have already traded Nylander and Johnsson during the off-season - not sure why you're saying wait to TDL. - MaximusAurelius

They're going to be in tough having not really fixed anything.
Their big moves were downgrading in net and adding 32 year old Derick Brassard who stunk all of last season. - BINGO!

The way I look at it is he got 600k more than Schenn. People are big on points but the matter of fact is look at St.Louis. They won the cup and their top scorer had 77 points. Only 2 guys had more than 54 points and 5 guys over 40 points. |

He can still steal games, but I don't know that Carey is what he once was. |

Lou has some work to do. My goodness there is more filler in that lineup than players. About $20 Million tied up in Andrew Ladd, Boychuk and a pair of lousy goalies - I agree they stink. |

Oh he's still amazing.
He's just had some very bad/meh teams in the last 2-3 years.
Even this season, our defensive coverage is pretty awful and, despite allowing 4 goals, everyone says he had a great game.
He's the one thing I don't worry about at all every game. |

Yes, $7.1M for Hayes was a great deal for the Flyers..
Whereas, $6.9M for William Nylander was an epic fail by Dubas. |

Does he help them to win games though?
Hyman never got 55points, but he's crucial for this Leafs team - not only points that matter. |

I think the Nylander contract is fine. Never understood the criticism of the number. What did people expect? |

Around 55 per season until he's 40?
so 55 x 8 = around 440 games + playoffs - injuries.
We'll take them all (or trade him ala Raymond Bourque if all else fails) because he's the mother (frank)ing best. |

MAF is still going. He is older too.
But you're right that the window for Price is right now. Which I'm unsure if the rest of the team is at the some point. |
