If a center is more important than our team D why didn’t we win a Stanly Cup when we traded for legit 2nd line centers for 2 playoff runs???? Could it be that wasn’t enough or possibly not the piece we actually needed?????

I don’t expect you to reconsider your position but it should

Someone forgot to tell Maurice he had a legit 2c last year, cause he played Hayes on the 4th line in the playoffs.

Furthermore we picked up our 2C options at the deadline. Wonder what it would be like, if we had that player the entire year! The player would understand our defensive and offensive schemes and it would give coach Maurice time to figure out which wingers work best with that center. This ad hoc style of doing business at the deadline for centers is clearly not working.

Hayes may have been a #2 center, but fell victim to having play with Floatrik Laine, and it never clicked.

Floatrick, lol, that’s a good one.

Benny, two games ago you were gushing (so was I) and now you have come up with a new moniker.

Consistency is difficult to achieve and it might take Laine 5 years to be consistent game in and game out.

I just want to see effort. I know it's hard to put out for 82 games, but would 60 games be too much to ask ?
