I feel like Krueger thinks he can be the Zach Hyman of that line. However Hyman actually has a tad bit of offensive ability. - Swedish_Jesus
Very true. I haven't seen hands that bad since Holzinger was here. |

Be nice if Sobotka had a little scoring touch to go with the physical part, be perfect for that line - Buff36
It'd be nice if he stayed in the offensive zone long enough to even have a chance to show some scoring ability. |
|
|

I said that with cozens all preseason. Give him a look The 9 games can’t hurt.
Cozens instead of Sobotka would be nice on the 2nd line. - Sabretooth9
Did you really expect them to waive Sobotka to give him 9 games? One of the downsides of giving him games is that it forces an extra roster move.

I would put Jokiharju right with Dahlin now and not look back. - OneKaneOneCup
Hopefully not in the 3rd period with a 2 goal lead.
2 young guys, both need veteran partners.

People probably laugh at me but Neal would have been a perfect fit for that line |

I don't think we need to get him up here before he is ready. I think the conversation started around the comment that the plan is for him to stay down there all year. - Slump Buster
Ok that makes more sense.
I would only bring him up if he is clearly not learning the pro game at the 3AAA level or an injury.
We want rochester to win and be competitive. Cant take all the young delovoping talent , on 2 way contracts. |

The term is the issue. Money would have been fine if it was a 4-5 year term at $9M. But people here are shortsighted and only care about the present but forget the fact the Sabres have to field a team 4 years from now. - Swedish_Jesus
You're a bit young to remember and understand Drury and briere leaving. That was long sighted I guess? Let the vets go and pay vanek?. That didn't work kiddo.
We needed to sign skinner, 4-5 years is a dream you are living. No way his agent takes that facing ufa at 27 years old. |

I hate afternoon games. Hockey was meant for evenings. Also, i'd love to know what our overall record for afternoon games is - I'm guessing it's sh!tty. Seems like we always lose afternoon games. - kritter65
I think hockey was invented prior to electricity?
Wouldnt that indicate hockey was meant for the daytime? |

Any time I feel down I head over to the Blackhawks forum to see them (again) lamenting the Nylander / Joker trade. I know it's early, but..... |

Yes, I'll stick with a guy that's been in that position before.
Not always, but risto and McCabe or joker and dahlin now.
Absolutely, just like our new smart head coach |

Why live for 10 years from now when you can go skiing in a dumpy tavern bathroom on a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

You’re right we should of taken the 4 first rounders and torn it down then. Would of saved 4 years of mediocrity delaying the inevitable rebuild we’ve been going through the past 8 years.
Everything happens for a reason though, I truly believe that. On the backs of Eichel and Dahlin we should be a very good team for a very long time. |

Thank you for this.
There are so many variables that play into paying and over paying FA players that we forget that I personally feel we neglect to remember that Jeff Skinner had the following going for him over all FA pickups we've had since Chris Drury.
A Solid and Consistent Body of Work
A Positive and team friendly attitude
Professional with Physical Training and Skill Development , dedicated
Gets feisty and nasty with other teams, rarely ever is effort questioned.
Creative mind and skill set
and this one is big
He Choose Buffalo, we didn't persuade him to come here, he knew he wanted to come here and why he wanted to be here. |

He chose 72M dollars over 8 years. Nobody was giving him $10.28M per year to play anywhere else over a 7 year term. Don’t kid yourself, he is here because of the money. |

If/when you have kids you'll be ok with a few games being in the afternoon. It's the only way pre-teens can see a whole game. - Slump Buster
I'm about to be 54 - and I have 2 kids and they hate sports.
I still hate afternoon games. |

He's here and that's the point. This team would suck so much ass without the competency he brings to the 2nd line |

These two players, at 19 and 20 years old, are light years ahead of where 55 and 19 were.
They’re also better players today.
Again, it will be an unfortunate event when sitting on a lead with bad players comes back to bite Krueger but it absolutely will if he continues to go down that path |

Remind me when one of those young guys close out a 2 goal lead.
