I can't remember what game it was exactly last year, but he was epic level douchebag for one of them. Honestly, I'd never had an issue with him before that. I didn't remember him ever being like that before. But man, he was BRUTAL in that one. - HonkFortheGoose
Yeah his take on Skinner was off the rails. |

Hey folks, I’m going to buffalo for the first time tonight. Going to watch the panthers and sabres game. Anyone know of any good pubs to hit up before/after the game? Thanks in advance! |

Should be a fun one! - Sabre_Tooth
If this Panthers team shows up, it certainly should be a fun game.

Acciari's goal was a thing of beauty.
First chance to see Sabres play this season. I think they found their coach.
Looking forward to this game! |

How far are you willing to travel away from the arena?
I'll give the usual responses:
Pearl St. Grill for walking distance.
Take the train to Gabriel's Gate on Allen
Offbeat by car: Essex St. Pub |

Yandle thought Skinner stuck his knee out (or tried to slew foot, something along those lines) on Barkov and went after him. Never seen him do anything like that before or since.
And, why hit Yandle? If you hit him, he might actually notice you standing all alone in front of the net. |

Thanks. Couldn't remember the details but it seemed pretty out of character from what I'd always seen from him. |

Labbatt brew house is right next to the arena if you are staying for post game brews. |

716 is attached to the Arena and is a huge sports bar with lots of televisions. It will be crowed but you should be able to find some room.
Pizza Plant is within walking distance. Good pizza and good/numerous beers on tap
Labatt brewery is new and right there. That's pretty cool.
Not too far away you can find Ballyhoo which is a little hipstery, they make a lot of craft cocktails, but I've always liked it there and it doesn't feel hipster pretentious to me. Next door to that is Swannie House which is old school buffalo factory worker hangout (great place).
Finally, you can go into the 7th floor bar in the Marriot Hotel. you need to take the elevator up and it's not that easy to figure out at first. After the game you can pay alot for a nice drink there, but there's a nice view. |

We’re staying at the Hilton garden about a ten minute walk from the arena. Not renting a car. Going to Detroit tomorrow for the leafs game. |

That's an awesome trip.
Buffalo is playing entertaining open hockey so far, and the leafs should be all over Detroit, so chances are you'll see some fun games. |

Yeah, I would suggest taking the train and going to Gabriel's Gate.
The stop in front of your hotel is Lafayette Square. Take the train outbound to Allen st./Medical campus (it's free above ground).
Walk 3 blocks west to Gabriel's Gate.
Some of the better wings in the city. Great atmosphere. |

FLA does have a good road record in our arena and our past record against them has not been favorable. But I really think Vegas is going off of last year’s results and past matchups because the season is so young. FLA has some goaltending and defense issues so far this year. I think they will come out fighting with playoff intensity because of their poor start much like CBJs did. But I like our offensive prowess against their defensive shortcomings.
Buffalo 5-3
Larsson goal empty net
Eichel goal PP
Sobotka goal
Miller goal
Reinhart goal
Dahlin with an assist to tie the record for consecutive points to start a season by a teenage defenseman. |

Definitely no goalie issues, just some lax defense coverage, breakdowns. Who knows how they'll do tonight with three new D pairs. |

Been there done that. We've seen this movie before Nolan, Bylsma and Housley did too. The outcome will be the same. If I recall last season coming out of training camp Housley was bubbling over Larsson and Girgensons ...and then ....they took one big steaming pile on the ice right around Thanksgiving. Generally speaking a good indication of what a player has done in the past will (generally) be an indication of their future attitude. |

I feel like i spent the entire preseason ragging on Botterill for not moving anyone out and I haven't given him nearly enough credit for the rest of his work.
Miller, Jokiharju, Johansson have all been superb.
We'll see how his maneuvers the roster when all the D are healthy and the pickle he created comes to fruition. But he did a great job with the players he added. |

I was going off the fact that he was pulled in the first period against Carolina and has a .859 save %. I didn’t watch the game, so it’s possible it was a wake up call for the rest of the team. I guess I should’ve been more careful. |

Definitely was a wake up call. On the third of the four first period goals, Bob stopped a guy on a breakaway, the shooter then recovers puck in corner and centers it to a teammate who somehow is standing all alone in front. It was an amazing display of pathetic. Q put backup in to start the second. |

Eh. He’s actually been serviceable defensively which was why he had negative value.
If he ends up potting his 5 on 5 goals he will be a low-key good addition |

I would say the best wings in the city. It is the one place I make sure I get to at least once every time I come back to Buffalo.
GOLEAFS71, if you're getting into the city early enough, it could be a good option for pre-game meal and drinks. It's only about a mile (probably a little more) from your hotel. So either the train+walk or Uber/Lyft are easy options for getting there. |

Vesey has been what we thought he would be
3rd or 4th liner and on the PK. He’s been both |
