I'm 29, raised in the southtowns and my parents took me there since at least 2000. They've probably gone there since the early '80s. It's hardly a hipster spot. It's an institution

Have you bothered looking at their serve-staff and bartenders? It's scuzzy and overrun by trash. Maybe it used to be good, but the quality there is unacceptable for the prices.

They need a new head cook.

The atmosphere is horrible. It's a tourist trap for locals who live outside of the city. It's like a rural man's tour of Allentown starts and stops there and it's a damn shame because there's about 6 other places on Allen alone that are more worth your time.

Authentic... It's been there a looooong time. You're clearly a regular. From someone who's only recently gone for the first time, after all the hype it got, I honestly thought it was one of the worst places I have ever stepped foot in.

River works has cleanliness issues. Always fruit flies in their glasses because they don’t clean their bar properly. Never ate there. But there’s a reason for that.
When you point out there’s something in your drink and they bring you another drink with something in it, you know there’s a problem. Only been there twice, each time same issue.
