Did you watch the game tonight? Sobotka was very good, had the most checks and had a presence. He wasn’t on the ice in the last minute it was Larsson, eichel and Johansson along with McCabe and Risto (who’s still getting too much pt)

I would have like us attack a bit more but we would have won in regulation if the fcking refs would have called barkov for hauling down Risto as he was about to clear the zone and end the game. They call those two borderline slashing calls then ignore a game changing penalty win 25 secs left

I watched the game sir and Ralph's reasoning for Dahlin not playing the last 8 minutes was nonsense. He went into a shell and they got burned. Let's hope they play like they did against PITT and NJ when they have the lead in the 3rd and not like they did tonight.

If this team and coaching staff are learning lessons while getting 9/10 points, I’m pretty alright with that.

It’s crazy. You have a 19 year old who’s already great.

Let him play through it.

Imagine him getting scored on in that OT after sitting for 10 minutes. That would’ve been a huge confidence boost after being benched.

Instead we got 55 and 19 flailing all over the place in the last min circa 2015-2018

Yeah, no, you're right, Risto didn't get his stick held by Barkov right before the last goal preventing him from getting across.

And before that a Sabre had the puck and was taking up the boards to Ullmarks left about to clear it and was tripped from behind

The inconsistency of refereeing is ridiculous

Thoughts.

Great two periods by the team. I don't know why Krueger went into a shell. Maybe he felt we were done scoring. Whatever the reason, it was a poor choice. We dominated the second period up to the buzzer. More Dahlin and Miller, push the pace and win 3-1 or 3-0. Instead he gave away a point to Florida, could be huge at the end of the year in that 8th place battle.

I can't watch Risto on the ice giving up the lead in crucial spots all season. The coach better realize that once again tonight, McCabe and Risto are on the ice for a big goal against, while Dahlin and Miller again weren't on the ice for any goals against. Play your best players. Dahlin with his 19yr old goofy mistakes is still better at not giving up goals than big strong Risto. The whole argument behind keeping Risto was to reduce his ice time and let him flourish as a second pairing d man. Sure, there was a trip there. I'm just done with it. There is always an excuse for why he gives up goals.

Glad they won, but this was an ugly game for Krueger.

Ullmark was spectacular, embarrassing first goal not withstanding. That's two above average games for him. Hopefully he can make a run. He should get the next game IMO.

Eichel didn't do much, so look out next game. He usually follows a game like that with a multipoint night.

The fourth line dominated this game. Okposo is playing inspired hockey, Larsson is consistent, and girgensons is on the team. In my opinion Okposo has earned a spot on the second line, but I'd understand if the coach doesn't want to mess with a solid line (the fourth, not the second).

Florida didnt impress me all that much, which is odd because I liked them to finish fourth in the division before the season.

All in all, another game that it was great to win but doesn't tell me much. The last three games really aren't indicating if this team is lucky or good.

Risto's stick was held on the game-tying goal and which player was swimming in front of the shooter. That player should be getting the crap on the game-tying goal. I think it's Larsson. Here is a video of it on Twitter.

The refs let a lot of things go the whole game.
Both goalies were unreal, they had to have been named two of the stars of game. That might've been the craziest OT ever.

That was also Risto. I just rewatched it and he fell. No one touched him. He lost his balance.

There was a play in the last minute where Mccabe didn't get the puck out and he should have. Is it ok to dump on him now that he makes more money?

McCabe has really struggled this year. The two of them have been on the ice for 6 and 5 even strength goals respectively. Miller and Dahlin 1 each , Joker and Scandella now 3.

They should be our 3-4 defensemen, playing 20-21 minutes, tops. Honestly when Montour comes back I'd like to see them be our 4-5 D.

The Sabres 2 slashing calls in the 3rd were really weak.

They also play against the other team's best talent, and most minutes and also play 6-5 like tonight. If Miller and Dahlin did that as well as Joker and Scandella the damn would break in a huge way and the team would not be 4-1.

No, Larsson is definitely on the ice before the puck goes in. Risto went down after.

FL had the better of the play from the start, Ullmark made some big saves to keep FL from an early lead. The tide started to turn with the Sabres first PP. Then it was Bobrobbski's turn to keep game scoreless.
I would've liked the Panthers to push the pace more in the second...but they were kinda hanging on at times as Buffalo just took it to them. Panthers flipped that script in the third. FL had a lot to do with the Sabres "shell" game. That was a fun game to watch.
