ummm pilut had 26 points in 30 ahl games, and it was his first season in north america

not sure how gilmour has superior numbers

please explain

- homiedclown

Guess I'm looking at goals>assists. 4g and 22a is very good. I like Pilut a lot and am not trying to discredit him, just saying I would like to see Gilmour get a few games before sending him back. Having to clear waivers, I would think a few teams may consider claiming him. If he is not a part of the future, maybe getting a few games in could interest a team in trading for him. Perhaps a Ho-Sang or Puljujarvi could be available.

4-0-1 and you want to rush our young defenseman?

We're winning- finally

You aren't content, change out some veterans and add more inexperienced guys to a already young team with a new system?

I'm fine winning

- Boss34

I don't get why everyone is so shot in the rear with the record. It's great that we are at least competitive (a low bar to set). I am glad about that. Should we not move Sobotka off of the second line because there is this magical winning formula through 6% of the season? Should Ullmark not have started until Hutton lost? Of course not. Keep your eye on the bigger prize and don't be afraid to improve yourself for the better.

I agree I want to see gilmour get a shot

not sure you can bench scandella or mccabe to give him that shot

my point on pilut, he had a better ppg in the ahl then gilmour last season, couldn't let that slide

Pilot is still non-contact and two weeks away from playing. I’m betting he’ll start in ROC and be an early call up.

Lots can happen before he’s ready.

Bogo will probably get healthy and get hurt again before Pilut is ready to go

He’s definitely starting / playing in Rochester. Let him get top pairing minutes and back on his track.

I don’t see him up with the Sabres right now. Not with the way the Sabres d are magically playing well

He has already dominated down there. Nothing more to learn. He (like the rest of the team) was simply overrun when the wheels fell off last year.
- Slump Buster

Pilut dominated the 30 games he played in the ahl last year. This is ridiculous. Nothing more to learn . 👇

Mr. Pachala

Just got around to your article.

You certainly read the writing on the wall and put your words where the play was! You are so far and away the best Hockey Writer

Again, he's not a kid. He showed that he is ready to play. I think he is going to be a good 3-4 in this league.

Yep, and there are so many waiver and cap implications as well.

Sabres finally grooming players and building it right. Let's rush all the guys, we lost that 1 point in ot.

It's been fun

How man are in front of him?

Montour makes 8, and you waive Gilmour to get to 7.

Are you sitting Scandella as the 7th? I would, but will they?

Let's say Bogosian is injured all season. Is Ristolainen getting traded to make room for Pilut? Scandella still the 7th Dman in that situation?

This is not counting injuries, aside from Bogosian.

This should be a week of very physical hockey. Home vs the Stars, then at the Ducks, Kings and the Sharks in a home and home. I wouldn't mind bringing Tage up and sitting Erod for this stretch. One would think playing on the west coast that they wouldn't want to wait for an injury to happen to have to fly a guy out to join the team.

Yes, he's a bit older. But defenseman take longer to develop.

Why not let him play his way into a spot? If he is "dominating " again this year, let him beat out scandella.

I get the joke but Bogo won’t be ready until January, if ever.

Might be a blessing in disguise because Jokiharju needs to stay

Good post, not a bad idea to let tage travel with the team and bond. Erod looks bad.

It’s going to be really unfortunate if/when they start losing those types of games and people pretend to wonder what happened

I remember in the summer time it was a big deal that Botts was nickel and diming him to arbitration. I even remember some were proposing a 7 year deal to him with low AAV to kick in a bottom 6 player at a low cap hit.

Maybe the putz was on to something.

The reason I'd like to see someone else partnered with Jokiharju is his effect in helping magically turn Scandella back into a serviceable defenseman. Watching the games, it seems like Scandella is letting Jokiharju handle all the breakouts and zone exits. Curious how a Montour, Pilut, or Gilmour would maybe open up the game even more for Jokiharju.

When they decide to sit on a 2 goal lead, sit two key players, cough up the lead and lose?

Botts might be smarter then some of the posters here.

Had to save money to over pay skinner by $250,000
