I'd definitely agree that he's looked pretty bad so far, I dont see how anyone can be happy with his play so far. It's still early though, skill players can tend to be streaky and if he can turn it around soon, it'll all be ok. If he can't, it's going to be a brutal season, further magnified by being one of the highest players in the league.

There's caring when you mess up with a turnover and have to make up for it and there's caring by putting together a consistent game and taking care of the puck every second you're out there. Everyone cares when it's a desperate situation, what makes a player elite is "caring" all the time.

Marner hasn't looked sharp at all and since he's proven that he has the skills and abilities to be very good, one could argue that his compete level and intensity hasn't been where it needs to be. Still early and he can turn it around quick, hopefully he can elevate his game.
