What terrific pick that's looking like. Who'd have thought a kid with skill and determination and work ethic would excel?

He’ll be a good player one day, Dubas picked a good one there.

Marner has been bad....but he’ll turn it around.

But yes, there probably are people out there who are calling him crap now too.

- Santo_44

He's been brutal, and he does deserve some criticism. Just as nylander wasn't Great last year (how bad was overblown imo). But there are people who said nylander sucks and he's only a 40pts player, it was pretty evident that wasn't the case even at his worst.

marner will turn it around.

Can’t remember who but a writer on the athletic who scouts prospects said he would break out like Frost did.

He’s right so far....

Anyone who thinks Robertson was a bad pick at where he went is nuts. He should of went in the 1st round. Plus he just turned 18 to boot. Basically this year should be his draft year.

Put Mikheyev on Matthews' wing and on PP and he'll get 55-60 points as well.
Nylander has great skills, but isnt willing to play hockey to win. He's twirling around the ice with no effort nor heart.

Tavares has been bad too, and Kapanen on his off-wing isn't really helping.

I know I'm going on a tangent with this, but has Babcock ever tried to skate flat-out with a puck on your backhand? Like, that's Kappy's jam right there: blow wide around the D.

SDA is alot better then what his junior numbers say. I can honestly say, He's one of those players who plays better in higher compitition then lower. Its just my opinion but he will be a decent NHLer in the future.

5 days short of this draft year or something like that.

Imagine this was his draft year, where'd he be going now?

How you can equate carrying the puck in, finding space and playing heads-up cerebral hockey as "no effort or heart" I'll never understand.

I don't think you watch the games very much. Nylander competing hard on the boards all the time (winning battles behind the net and along the boards consistently).

And he isn't playing with Matthews on the pp.

Hate.

Anyone can put up point with Matthews, except all those that didn't like hyman and marleau and on and on. Johnson and nylander suck, they're overrated just riding Matthews coat tails.

You really want to question someone who Says nylander only get point cause he plays with Matthews on the pp, meanwhile nylander doesn't play pp with Matthews.

I see you have trouble again with comprehensive reading - never said to put mikheyev on pp with matthews.
Nylander does not compete hard - what he does is a typical 'alibi-compete' where he pretends to engage in battles but actually goes in half half.
I understand people like different playing styles - we'll never agree on him.

Nylander's on ice vision is highly overestimated in my view. He's not Kapanen bad in that aspect, but he's not very creative either - relies on his speed to create space, but quite un-creative in general. He does not read plays very well.

So I'm staying at an Air BnB that only has Apple TV.

How do I watch the game tonight?

Log onto CBC.ca or something?

Thanks

Max your hate for Nylander goes overboard bud. He has been arguably the 2nd best player out there so far. Sorry but its true and if it hurts, so be it.

Yeah this isn't true.

Hard to pretend to engage in battles, but still come out with the puck.

The fact you ignore him constantly winning battles and getting the puck further reinforces your unabashed hate for the guy.

Hyman - like it or not.
Believe in the Hyman...or don't.
Hymanator drives the bus...or does he?
Blue collar Hyman - comes to work every day and gets the job done.
Hyman is not good looking = results.
Hyman is not afraid to be driven from behind.

Kap should be on the 3rd line on his strong side. Move Move Mikheyev or Moore up. Both are better suited to play along side Taveres and Marner imo.
