God dam Gus, no check beer league hockey move at it’s best, behind the net. And let the guys skate right out front. I don’t care if this kid gets 100 points a year I would trade his ass the first good offer I get.
Sooner or later the coaches are going to have enough of his bullpoop and bench his ass.

Gus chases the Jet around the back of the net.
No one thinks to cover the guy standing alone at the far post.
Tap.in goal.

Talking about Lehner, then that happens. Not his fault, but saw it coming.
- I Am The Breadman

Toews skated right by copp to join the two other hawks in the high slot before copp scored

It’s amazing how much better Keith looks when he doesn’t have to cover for Gus every shift.

Gus on the ice after a tv timeout

Good move, coach

[Taking up right where they left off last season,no difference get ready ,no defense the old men looking older. Shaw the only one that shows any passion or heart.

There were literally 3 hawks standing still arms length apart in the neutral zone
- PatShart

JC's system calls for that.

Sorry to disagree but when things continue to happen game in and game out , it's ALL about coaching and development.

Can’t wait to see Stanley and Jeremy fired by Christmas. Get some actual NHL talent in the front office and coaching positions.

I don't know, if it were me and i was leading, there's no way Gus would be on the ice in the 3rd period

You dont chaze the puck behind the net (unless that's the system...hint hint)

You switch and stay back and cover that back post. That's the natural thing to do

Yes, he was. D are taught beginning in Pee Wee that you don’t follow a puck carrier around the net. You let him go and your partner picks him up on the other side of the net.

Hockey 101.

I think it’s more on Gustafsson chasing the guy around the net.

Both Gus foolishly followed the guy around the back of the net.

Hawks up 2-1 and a tv time out at the 10min mark

Could have cut gus's shift down to 3 at that point if they put him back in the rotation

Instead he starts the shift and goal

And JC says hes needs more out of Toews and Kane

DeHaan and/or Toews should have had the back post. It wasn't on Gus. You can point to Gus a dozen or more times a game, and you'd be right, but not this time.

Do you really trust McDonut to be the architect of a new-world-order Hawks front office and coaching staff? The thought of it makes me shudder...
