The only way chasing the guy behind the net was the right play is if that is what the coach wants you to do in his system- chase the puck carrier instead of defending the net

If your partner is chasing behind the net - and a vet should be able to see that - you should make sure you’re covering the back post - NOT chasing the puck to the other side.

You're right there. But any NHL caliber defenceman doesnt expect their partner as to be so stupid to chase a guy around the net, so in DeHaans first game with him, I'm sure he wasnt expecting it

I recall i think two shifts in the third where they maintained control of the puck for more than an in-and-out - the rest of the game was all one-and-done off the rush.
