Plus they give up Dahlstrum on waivers who played in all key situations for the Jets last Night & looked good doing it !

I also have to say our back end already looks so much better when Koekkoek and Gilbert aren't on the ice. Last Achilles heel is Gusto, really hope either Boqvist takes the next step or Ian Mitchell finishes his college career, signs with us and is in fact as good as some think he is here. Gusto is not worth the offensive trade off

the hawks came out uber aggressive and got rewarded with a shorty and just missed getting a 2nd goal on the same pk...

jets looked out of sorts and not skating...

no team can play high octane aggressive the whole game...
the 2 goal leads go away regularly in the NHL...teams are going to have their shots during a game..

nhl is a 1 goal league...hawks have lost 3 1 goal games; they still make alot of defensive mistakes and the pk has hurt them = the difference between winning and losing by 1 goal...

It's early yet, after last night's game im a bit more optimistic, they were good defensively, good on the PK, just a couple mental breakdowns in the dzone. They clean that up find a replacement for Gus, this team has a good chance to be better than last years team

So Dach gets 2 weeks in Rockford or 5 games. Does that eat into his 9 games in NHL before they can send him back?

Gus shoulda been traded at the draft, each game he play's now
only bring us a lesser return which with Stan at the helm not a
biggie.

There is still time for hope though.

Lehner's comments today were more critical of the Hawks than any goal tender I can recall and he hasn't played a game yet. Can't wait for this share the net soap opera to play out.

They looked better than their first two games overall. I am however concerned with the big dollar players though.

Start Lehner. He deserves a follow up look. Very good last nite.

I thought it was great for Lehner who IMO played a great game to speak out. That's what this team seems to be missing is a strong voice to wake up the locker room. It was the defense that hung Lehner out on both goals . And why Gus was playing in ot boggles my mind.

JC needs to jump up and down and call these guys out .
