I say let him earn his stripes. People penciling him into the lineup with no evidence to suggest he belongs are totally lost on things. I hope the kid is going to be great, but so far we have no evidence he is that, at least in the short term. We'll see how he does in Rock and go from there. Having Kampf on line 4 would be great if Dach proves to be better.

At this point Kampf's efforts do NOT indicate he should be benched. And Dach has done exactly nothing to prove he belongs on NHL ice.

That line has been OUR best line. That DOES not mean I wouldn't love to see a more dynamic player at L3-C with Kampf doing his solid work on L4. But for now what is happening on line 3 is more than enough, we just need to find some people on L1 and L2 to get warmed up.

Kampf's line matched up with McDavid's line for much of the first period. McDavid was on the ice against Kampf for 4:57 in the first period. Kampf's line had a 5-1 advantage in shot attempts and 4-1 in shots on goal.
