Cup contender?

I was just commenting on how IMac pulled out the pom poms after what I considered another sloppy, boring game from teams that look like they are still in preseason.

- bloatedmosquito

There are different levels of Pom Pom waiving.

I can say the team has looked decent in the four games and it gets twisted out of proportion by certain posters on here.

I didn't see anything too outrageous about the headline by Imac.

Summary
"They’ve got a bunch of new players, and a new outlook this season. They’re bigger, more talented, more experienced. But are they going to be any better?"

"They kind of looked like last year’s Canucks in their season-opener when they blew a third-period lead in Edmonton and lost on Connor McDavid’s late goal for the Oilers. "

Talked about losing a 3rd period lead but still managed to leave with a victory thanks to Pearson's shootout goal.

"Instead, they evened their record at 2-2 after a 0-2 start and built some confidence among players still getting used to one another." <--- nicest thing he said about the team.

Talked to some players about it and they end.

Thanks . Sort of figured it was something like that.

Hard to say. On paper sure, but we’ve been down this road before.

Seems like the consensus is the 4 games in is not too early to make proclamations.

I had not read the article till now but I think you made mount Everest out of a valley.

It was just a comment about a poor article.

Now go grab your snow shovel, stop wasting time on the computer, and get to work.

On the other side of the coin

jsaquella@jsaquella@BroadStBull

The Giroux-Hayes combo created a lot of chances with both Voracek (vs NJ & CHI) and JvR(VAN). They’re playing well, just not finishing. Also, it’s 3 games. They’re 2-0-1. People need to chill out.

What bull poop? Opinions only matter if they fall inline with the two most prolific posters on here?

I'm surprised Hayes is getting to play with Giroux over Courturier.

They obviously love Hayes a lot more than others around the league do

You’re engaging with a guy who lives in Manitoba about off shore fishing.

Why?

I guess I’m putting off the drive to Parksville for the pending meat-coma turkey dinner at mom and dads.

Need advice on snow shovels, fly swatters, or obscure prospects in the Central Asian Hockey League, then Minivan’s your man.

Enjoy the turkey. In my house we have prime rib on holidays. Not a big bird fan.

I thought the canucks were the better team against the oilers and the flames didn't outplay us I thought it was pretty even. Tough to win home openers being the visitor.

I have enjoyed so far. We played 3 good teams and its been close. I don't think we are close to playing our best but neither have the other teams except the Oilers.

My main interest this year is enjoy the product and be competitive.

If talk is true that the Flyers are in on Laine, that would make them a team to watch this year for sure.

We are winless on the road after two games so we aren’t going to be a good road team this season.

Is that how this works?

You too....prime rib sounds better but my mom is 80, old-school tradition says we eat the bird.
