Is Boston paying 40 million to 4 forwards and another 10 coming up for their #1D?
Rielly and Sandin both have expiring contracts in the same season if they burn a year of his ELC now. Stupid is making their cap situation even more complicated than it needs to be for 6th D minutes. Holl has proven capable of playing the #6 spot when Dermott returns as the #5. No need for Marincin. - JohnFergusonJr
How old are Boston's core forwards and when did they sign them? How old is Chara?

Dermott ready? I can't see why they're sending him down, unless they're trying to save his ELC years and cap him at 6 games, save a few for later. - gravyface
That would be silly.
He’s over racing AHL competition. |

This is about the player's development. He's playing just 12 minutes a game in the NHL and no special teams. My sense is the Leafs feel his development is better served playing big minutes within a more impactful role in the AHL.
I haven’t looked at his toi but it always seemed like played a lot more then that. |

c'mon man... you know Bablord will throw Marincin back in there for sure. You Gud Pro, 6'5' all day long... good stick.
apparently Marincin is a good penalty killer as well... although I have as yet not seen a single piece of evidence that supports that |

with Chara specifically, its not measured in years of age... its measured in how many cross checks he has left in those arms.
Chara will remain in league for as long as he can maintain the +10 per game of cross checks given and not called.

at this point we have to conclude that Marincin or his agent have pictures of Babcock doing something that they don't want coming out publicly ... |

You need to check entire rosters. Boston is horribly overpaying their 3rd and 4th lines, hence hurting your argument about the Leafs paying a lot to young superstars.
I don't understand why people don't look at entire rosters. Boston signed their big names years before the Leafs and 4 of them are either past their primes, or very close to being past their primes. |

Babs killed two birds with one stone by sending sandin down and calling up gravel.
There was ZERO response after that rough hit on Sandin, Gravel would respond to that. And he also doesn’t have to worry about more guys taking runs at sandman.
This is exactly what I said would happen. Teams will start taking runs at our cupcakes because the refs aren’t going to call everything, nor should they. I have no (frank)ing clue why you DERPS couldn’t see that, or maybe you just didn’t want to believe that hockey will continue to be a physical game. |

ahhh... the infinite wisdom of Lebrun resurfaces...
actually Pierre that's his average TOI number, the trend (if you actually looked at the numbers rather than spewing pleasantries and speculative garbage) was up.. he had a couple of games early where TOI was in single digits.. more recent games higher.
MAYBE, just maybe... this has to do with Abdelkader jumping at him and knocking his head into the boards.
please Pierre, return to speculating about offer sheets for Leafs who will reach RFA status in 2021 and later... |

Sandin's cap hit is $192K more than Marincin, in addition, he has the potential bonus of $92.5K - this may be cap management more than anything else. Fitting Hyman's $2.2 Million in will be tricky, so Pridham and Dubas will use every cent of cap space they can.

possible about Gravel... who I thought was just good as Marincin in the preseason anyway... .not that this is saying much.
but if Babcock goes with Marty the Stork again... you know its not true (unfortunately).

Watch a game from him last year, his foot speed has increased by a mile. |

Maybe, just maybe Santo, it could be a combination of both, or other factors.

Yes. Once Dermott and Hyman are back the Leafs can't afford Sandin (as mental as that sounds) unless they carry a 20 man roster. It's also the reason why Holl has cemented his place as at least the 7th dman all year. His contract fits in (only just) |

I genuinely don't understand how they coach these guys at times. You have a 4th liner, or even a 3rd liner on some teams where the role really is "not to get scored against"... "win as many faceoffs as you can"... "if there's ANY offense that's a bonus"...
so send a guy the Goat out there with a good old Sherwood 5030... nice and heavy, you'll win every draw just by leaning on the other guy.
and seriously - I like the Goat... but he's not taking a shot EVER more than 5-7 feet from the net... what difference would the best composite stick on the plane make? |
