Babs killed two birds with one stone by sending sandin down and calling up gravel.
There was ZERO response after that rough hit on Sandin, Gravel would respond to that. And he also doesn’t have to worry about more guys taking runs at sandman.
This is exactly what I said would happen. Teams will start taking runs at our cupcakes because the refs aren’t going to call everything, nor should they. I have no (frank)ing clue why you DERPS couldn’t see that, or maybe you just didn’t want to believe that hockey will continue to be a physical game. - Arctic_AARDVARK

He wants someone to respond to a clean hit so the Leafs get an instigating penalty and get scored on the PK. |

Yes. Once Dermott and Hyman are back the Leafs can't afford Sandin (as mental as that sounds) unless they carry a 20 man roster. It's also the reason why Holl has cemented his place as at least the 7th dman all year. His contract fits in (only just) - walshyleafsfan
Agree - will be interesting to see how many moves will take place this year to keep the cap in check. I think the 20 man roster will be a reality for at least a few games this year. Leafs could always make a trade to free up some space, most likely candidates IMO are Ceci and Kapanen in that order.

Apparently that would prevent the guy from throwing a legal hit the next time around. |

Jfc man..
Why isn’t it okay for a 19 ur old rookie to get crushed by a vet and hit his head against the glass and cut his face?
You guys have gone soft. It’s madness how you all forget how the game is played, and just defend this embarrassing Dubas style of play. Barf. |

someone , one of the talking heads, perhaps it was Ferraro mentioned just as the season was starting , that was why the Leafs signed all those guys - I believe 7 at the same time - for the same dollar value, so they could interchangeably send them up and down... not impact the CAP at that point.
interesting that Dermott's CAP hit is lower than Sandin's.
theGoat makes less than Spezza and Shore
Timashov less than Petan |

I dont have to get up in a huff cuz my poor player took a legal hit. You need to toughen up |

Because we shouldn't be in the business of playing a gentlemanly style. Maybe send a message to teams when the games apparently don't matter.
Now don't get me wrong. I don't actually expect the Leafs to ever respond. Someone could get shot and they would just stand there, but I can still dream.
The original plan of we will punish them on the PP has turned out to be one of the worst plans we've had to date. Our PP doesn't exactly send shivers down the spine. |

It's pretty ironic that the guy that can't or doesn't want to take a clean hit is calling someone else who says clean hit is ok soft.
Seems quite the opposite to me. |

It's like the Leafs should play a different game to everyone else, and handle their contracts differently to everyone else. We've become a separatist movement |

With the players on the ice the PP should be dominant.
It’s game 6....give it some time, I’d bet they are a top PP in the league by seasons end.

You guys seem to think all 30 NHL teams are tuff and never ever have bad games or make mistakes.
It’s funny to us to read your guys comments, maybe we shouldn’t respond because it seems to rile you guys up |

thats pretty dumb if you ask me.
get your feelings hurt when your player takes a hit. I persnally dont give a poop about hitting and the proper response..but I dont get why you have to make up some stupid code to respond to the way the game is played |

Looked like a head shot to me - kid bounced up and didn't miss a shift. Didn't like the hit and thought it was a dirty play - but haven't seen a replay. Should there have been retribution? From a personal view absolutely, from the standpoint of logic - win the game instead.

as long a hitting and contact is part of the game, you are not going to be able to avoid stuff like that.
you have players who are 6-4 playing against 5-8, Sandin was hunching over a bit and JA is a few inches taller..so thats going to happen |

Well seems to me that you think the first 4 or 5 games tells the whole damn story you have some ironic posts on here.
They have a new PP a coach and some new players, give them more than 5/6 games ffs. |

It's not some stupid code I've made up. I had nothing to do with said stupid code. It's employed by nearly all of the other teams in the league. Just not the Leafs. Like when Weber clobbered Snakes, nothing. Just nothing from the Leafs. Nada. So soulless. Do you think the players think any of their teammates have their backs? Or do you think it's more of a fend for yourself type attitude? |
