well.... 60 games is your answer-
all I can say to that is "interesting"
I'm no pro coach... but I'm guessing here, maybe reaching... if my team's PP or PK sucked or under performed for 3/4 of the season and I was seen to not do anything about it... I might be unemployed by the 40 game mark.
but that's just me. - BorjeFan4Ever

okay.... (sigh)... I'll attempt to dumb it down
If you wait to the 60 game mark to evaluate the performance of your team or special teams or whatever...
I would suggest you would be unemployed very quickly...
translated 60 games is moronic
I honestly thought that someone might say it needs to be 15-20 games to be statistically significant (which would be incorrect)... but I can understand that 15-20% of the season would be understandable to want to look at
10 games out of 82 game season should be enough to show you a trend unless your are a stubborn guy like Bablord
60 game - I'm guessing you don't spend much time doing stats |

I didn't have Hynes as the first fired, but it'll be him. |

Jersey has a decent team on paper and he's been there awhile. Maybe Boudreau gets the axe first, but it seems a tossup. |

Easier move to make than get a goalie. |

I didnt do the calculations.
you asked this question
how many games - what percentage of the season is sufficient to begin to measure the results?
so the answer stands.
Now if you want to ask what is my opinion on how many games a team should wait to makes a change? thats a different questin.
But a smart GM should be looking at the underlying data to see what is happening and how the team is preforming..outside of the standing and points.
but for a team that is good like the leafs, waiting for a large chunk of the season to play out is probably good.

I watched the game at the pub so I couldn't see it entirely but it looked like an elbow and he was hit in the head. - GreatGigInTheSky
Shoulder to head, head was 1st part of contact and the guy sort of jumped into the hit. |

so again... trying to make this easy...
your large chuck of the season - APPROXIMATELY how many games is that?

Hughes hasn't done anything yet, Subban has been really bad, Hischier hasn't done nothing, and Hall has been snakebit. Hall finally got the monkey off his back now but, I think they're gonna need everyone else to step up on top of needing much better goaltending. I personally don't think they're a playoff team but I don't think they'll continue to be the worst in the league, either.
Minnesota is pretty bad, too. I can see Boudreau being the first to get poopcanned. |

there is no way you can stop that kind of thing if you keep hitting in the game.
His shoulder isnt explicitly hitting his head, its just Sandin is in a hunched over angle which lowers his head. and you cant stop the force of his head moving forward and hitting his shoulder when they collide.
Its just the nature of body check, the player throwing a hit positions himself to protect his body and tucks in the arm. again..shorter players bending their legs and coming in lower with their head forward are bound to have that happen.
also I dont see his skates leaving the ice |

That Mikheyev guy is pretty good... is he RFA next year? My only worry is he’s playing out of what we can afford. I guess you rather have this problem than underperforming players but if that happens...
MM’s contract doesn’t look too good right now, in more than one way.
Hopefully he will embarrass his critics by the end of the season; otherwise, expect lots of blame games after the season. |

If it's accidental, yeah. Abdelkader has done garbage like that a lot. He went high on Sandin. - GreatGigInTheSky
I see only 1 option then, dont throw a hit in that situation |
