I am sooo sick of hearing how Toronto has great young talent and will take the next step. I've heard that for the past 15+ years.

That Marner contract is so horrible, Something, something endorsements. LOL

Quenville is poop when he hasn't been handed Kane, Toews, Seabrook and Keith
- walshyleafsfan

What people forget is Quennville was fired twice and couldn't win squat until he joined Chicago.

I must have missed the Leafs hype when they made the Kessel trade.

That hype in 2015 was YUGE!

And LOL. That Marner contract is fine. 10 million+ per for a soon-to-be 32 year-old goalie? HAHA.

Way too early to write Panthers off, ditto for the devils, that said - Rangers could surprise.

Kerfoot 4 points in 6 games
Kadri 1 point in 4 games

entirely possible Kerfoot ends up scoring more points than Kadri

id still put my money on Kadri, but so far a decent return

Last January, most blogs including this one were talking about trading extra scraps for Parayko and Pietrangelo - how did that work out?

Was a really nice goal by Kadri the other day. It might wake him up now that he finally got his 1st there.

Pietrangelo.

St. Louis is gonna be in tough to sign him after giving Faulk that contract. Hopefully.

That Mikheyev guy is pretty good... is he RFA next year? My only worry is he’s playing out of what we can afford. I guess you rather have this problem than underperforming players but if that happens...

MM’s contract doesn’t look too good right now, in more than one way.

Hopefully he will embarrass his critics by the end of the season; otherwise, expect lots of blame games after the season.

- gamerdoc

oh... he's definitely going to be lost to an offer sheet...

I think that's what the "all knowing DregerSpewMeister" said last week.

I think there was some doink in here today talking about not judging the PP or PK based on a small sample size.

Who was that again?

Steel gets tripped a bit and Jack Edwards goes- "Conveniently falls on top of Kampfer's stick".
- GreatGigInTheSky

isn't that the same Jack Edwards who commented on Polak falling and getting hurt as karma.

there's only one button to hit when Jack Edwards comes on... "mute"

When you mention one aspect of a salary structure and ignore the rest, you are purposely misleading the conversation. Boston is a cap team - same as the Leafs. Its not Dubas' fault Boston is paying $13.25 Million a year for two more years to Backes and Krejci - they certainly aren't worth it given age and production over the past 3 years. Besides that, you mention Rielly - who is signed for 3 more seasons, you failed to mention that both Chara and Krug are UFA next year. I disagree with you on your opinion as do the majority of the regulars on this blog. Saying the same thing 100 times isn't going to make your opinion more popular.

This is my favorite part because now it's impossible for you not to realize that I was right all along, regardless of how many people agreed with it or not.

Pierre Lebrun

This is about the player's development. He's playing just 12 minutes a game in the NHL and no special teams. My sense is the Leafs feel his development is better served playing big minutes within a more impactful role in the AHL.

I haven’t looked at his toi but it always seemed like played a lot more then that.

- bryant

It's a great move for many reasons.

Save the ELC. Give him more meaningful minutes. Get his endurance and strength up.

It may also protect him from the expansion draft by preventing him from playing 2 full seasons. I'm not 100% sure on that but I read it somewhere and it might be another factor as to why they sent him down.

It was good to give him a taste of the NHL. He earned that much. Now he knows where he stands and what he needs to do to improve. It'll give him something to work towards along with big minutes with the Marlies.
