This post is nonsensical. They added Hayes, Niskanen, Braun, Twarynski and Bunnamen. - MJL
How many Bunnamen? 😄🙃😜 |

There is no defense of this signing, it’s asinine. - BiggE
The only defense is saying thst he's the 13th forward who will sit on the bench so kids can get time either in the AHL or NHL and not waste time in the owner's suite. Yet he's already in the lineup tonight. Ugh.
Icing him over a better player because the opposition has a bum like Lucic in the lineup is probably exactly what a team like Calgary hopes happens. |

I mean Bill is employed by the Flyers directly now, is he not? If you're expecting him to trash anything they do it's very likely not going to happen. |

Did you actually think about this first before posting it? Does it matter that Calgary has the player on the team first? LOL Aren't they doing the same thing? How does that give Calgary an advantage? I'm curious. |

It seems that ever since the announcers got caught on a hot mic bashing Jake the media covering the team has not written or said anything negative about the team. CSN Philly is all roses and sunshine, JJ and Jones are now homers in the Jack Edwards league, and Sam at the Inquirer is like CSN Philly.
Did the team threaten to pull access if negative stories are written? |

Frost, Myers, Farabee and Rubs in the AHL.
Stewart signed.

I mean Myers has nothing to do with a winger signing. Frost needs time. I would say Farabee, Rubstov or even someone like Vorobyov probably should've gotten a look before using up an extra roster spot that no other team was looking to sign. |

You do know that Myers is a defenseman, correct? So the Stewart signing has nothing to do with him. Should a team play draft picks just based on their name or where they were drafted or should they consider what is the best thing for the development of the player? You do know that they despite signing Stewart, they can still call any of those forwards up if they feel they have earned the promotion?

Having an extra player that can skate at today's NHL pace instead of throwing a tough guy out there because you're worried about Lucic. It's not that complicated. |

JJ has very rarely ever been harshly critical of the team. If you want to make that argument look no further than them tossing Barkann off Flyers games. He was the biggest ass of them all by a county mile.
At the end of the day it's the home feed and they happen to be owned by the same company that owns the Flyers. You're only going to get so much criticism. |

Still not getting it. Calgary is essentially doing the same thing! LOL
Here is where you're going wrong. The Flyers didn't make this signing just because Lucic plays for Calgary. They were going to sign Stewart all along. The timing of the signing was Welinski getting healthy and clearing waivers and being demoted. Clearing the space to sign Stewart. He's playing because Bunnaman has been struggling. It's not that complicated.

I mean I guess I'm just giving Fletch the benefit of the doubt. If he watched the same preseason games I did and thinks Stewart has anything to offer on a regular basis then yikes |

Ahhh man. I said for a long time that you had zero credibility. Point proven.
Hope you enjoyed making HB palliative. You’ve noticed that havent you?

Being ridiculously pessimistic, uninformed and not having a grasp on the facts, is a really bad mix.
Time and again, our interactions prove who has credibility and who doesn't.

"I would not have signed Stewart. I'm on record and you should know this, as not being impressed with what I saw in pre season. I don't think he can play anymore. I think having a player on the roster for "protection" is a waste of a roster spot. However I'd be happy to be proven wrong." |

So if Stewart dresses tonight is the narrative from the booth that he will be a good foil to the terror that is Milan Lucic? |

Archaic organization far too in love with its past believes Stewart will have a productive role in today’s NHL, or enough so to waste a roster spot and some cap space.
Some good moves here and there but the stench of olden hockey dinosaur mentality. Still lingers. - flyer_nutter
As usual, this is an absurd overreaction. The team has made numerous moves this off season in preparation for this season. To suggest that signing one player to a one year minimum deal somehow defines them as an organization is ridiculous. What was that word again? Oh yeah, credibility.

MJL has literally made a million posts saying he doesnt like stewart or the signing on this board alone and nutter is saying that hes defending the signing because he called his post "nonsensical," which it was.
There are some people defending this signing but most aren't and nutter went after one of the guys most vocally against the signing? Even the troll job is bad |

He just assumed something would happen that obviously didn't happen and questioned my credibility. Never mind that the team is 2-0-1, off to a good start and looks like a much improved team from last season. All of that is null and void due to signing Stewart to a one year minimum deal today! |
