Been to both multiple times with the kids. Didn't take the kids to Disney until my oldest was 7, little one was 3. Waited b/c I saw no reason to spend that amount of $$$ for something neither would remember. Did Disney like 4 years straight then went to Universal a few times. Completely different experiences but enjoyed them both. Time of year is key. I refuse to go during summer or spring break so we would yank the kids out of school and go in late Sept. Not exactly empty, but not overly packed either. Now that my kids are older and can't take an entire week off, the last time we went to Universal we went in May for a long weekend.

I haven't been in a Disney park for about 23 years (I feel really old now). I've been to Universal twice more recently (I think 2012 and 2014 or so?). We generally plan when we do go to go during more offseason times. The last time I was in Universal it was early November.

I'm not talking about price so much. Just the ambiance or culture of Disney is too much for me. It's hard to put into words. Cartoons selling a brand is just the 7th layer of hell to me. The whole thing gives me an Edward Scissorhands neighborhood vibe.

Cabana Bay at Universal was much more enjoyable for me

I've attended two, yes two, Disney weddings. You would not have enjoyed yourself.

That line confuses me. I'm hoping you meant she didn't know she was pregnant with your second child until your son was 2 1/2. Or, you didn't know she was pregnant until 2 1/2 months.

If you didn't know she was pregnant with your son until he turned 2 1/2 years old she should work for the CIA.

The prices are no joke, but for a one time event, it was worth it.

The entire safari was nearly 4 hours.

Good read as usual. I’m still optimistically skeptical we can keep it up, as a true lifer Sabre’s fan. I’d love to get Vesey going. Found a good read on him

If the Mitts-Vesey line gets scoring,
we are gonna be in really good shape

That would make up for for potential regression on the pp

Very non related hockey note:

Currently at the train station in Albany to go to Boston for work. Just hate driving in Boston. The people watching here is FANTASTIC.

The first two weeks in February are ideal.

High 60's to low 70's. Too cold for the locals, which means everywhere is virtually empty, and it's before school is out for mid winter break.

Good read. I have to agree Scandella looks great, I'd even argue he's been the sabres 2nd or 3rd best defenseman this year, in a year where all six are having average or better seasons.

I have assumed for the entire off-season he has zero trade value, but if Montour comes back maybe someone throws you something for Scandella? He could help a lot of teams, and there is just no room for him here soon.

- matty12345

We could just keep Scandella anyways
Probably better to have depth than a mid-round pick that we’d get for him

And even once Montour gets back,
there will still be other injuries

That really is the weak spot right there it seems.

Defense is way better.

For as much flak as Sobotka takes, he's not a problem. Erod isn't good enough to unseat him nor is anyone in Roch.

That third line needs to get going.

Those in the train station.

It's a SPECIFIC part of Albany.

Edit: I'm wondering if the lack of security checks when compared with air travel brings some interesting folk.

It was cool in that they were both trips to Disney with friends that would never have happened unless we were all attending a wedding together. I can only imagine what they cost, so yeah you need to be hardcore fans to get married there.

I was excited about his ability to get even strength goals, draw penalties but agreed on Sobotka Looking better at this point. Might have to flip Skunk and Vesey for a couple games to get Vesey going. Sounds crazy but Skunk has proven to be very versatile
- lulags

That could get Vesey going with Jack,
and Mitts going with Sam
Not a bad idea

Could even try Sheary/E Rod up with Jack,
then do Vesey-Mitts-Sam
Hard to imagine that line not doing well

Roll the 3 lines pretty evenly
Can always move Sam back up with Jack if we need a goal late

At some point, I'm leery to break up lines that are working just to try and get the 1 that's not going.

At some point, they may need to shake things up because other start to struggle, but for right now I think we need to take the approach of "if it's not broken, don't fix it."

On top of that, the 3rd line is really the 4th line in minutes played.

If they play themselves into 3rd line minutes, it means the team is really going somewhere.

Very true. The Larsson/Girgs/Okposo line has managed to get on the board a few times and is currently creating alllllllllllll sorts of problems most nights for the other team. Even the shifts they don't score they're hemming the opposition into their own zone. Don't have to worry about the other team scoring if they're not in your end.
