From yesterday.

Maybe Mikaveyev (Sp) outplays Moore and Kap.

I think Mikheyev has outplayed a few players this season.. I really do like his game

I know I get a lot of blow back on my criticisms of the Tavares signing. But, it has adversely impacted the essential synchronicity or natural order necessary for building a Stanley Cup winner. Most problematic are the huge CAP pressures on the top end of the roster. It gets worse next year.

As Tavares assumes a stronger leadership role (going back to around Christmas of last year) the Leafs have started to look more and more like the Islanders. It is pure blah.

Trading Kadri was a huge error.

I was huge supporter of Shanaplan. Starting to have doubts about Dubas' understanding of how it can be delivered.

nah... you get blow back because your comments are often .... dumb.

1) why would we care about whether you are supporter or the Shanaplan or not?
2) would you still suggest taking Laine over Matthews?
3) where have you been - we've missed your insight and innate ability to inject humour?

the question isn't whether Mikheyev has outplayed Moore or Kapanen(playing out of position with Tavares and Marner)...

the question SHOULD BE how much has Mikheyev outplayed Nylander or the "ghost of Hairlander"...

it is really quite limiting to a player's effectiveness when they dump the puck in the corner the moment they are approached by the opposition, or when they simply don't skate.

I'll use stats... what is Mikheyev's production divided by TOI versus Nylanders production divided by TOI? How many of Nylander's points have come on the powerplay?

Nylander has played well so far this season. He still drives me nuts when he avoids contact but he's been way stronger on the puck when he was it on his stick and looks dangerous almost every time. Besides some flashes of brilliance from marner I think Nylander has been the much more noticeable player.

You're an idiot.

Go back to the Sens forums, and cry over the fact that your organization is complete trash, and the one player you have that you thought was good, is looking like he had one decent half season, and you've just signed a third pairing dman to the long term $7M+ contract, or whatever it was.

And Melnyk is still owner, and that will not change any time soon.

The Leafs are an elite team, and the first 8 games of the season, playing .500 hockey (with two of those losses coming on the back end of 2 road games in 2 nights, against rested teams). Choke on that, you spastic moron.

This is a awful take. They lose on a back to back against Washington with Hutchinson in net and you post this? Go back to thinking Ottawa is a contender
- Archaic

Ottawa is a contender alright. They're in tight contention to become the new Seattle NHL team.

I dont see ceecee working at all with Rielly, both weak defensivly. putting them both out against the top lines is asking for problems

Babs put ceecee out for the 2nd most ice time last night.,

- senstroll

If I'm Dubas, I'm looking for a team that has lost a dman or two to injury, and see if I can dump Ceci on a desperate team. Ceci may have had a bit of promise at one point, but he has way too much Ottawa stink stained into him.

Then start looking for a decent rental at the deadline.

No Matthews on the ice for the empty net, despite two chances (Kap, Nylander came on) to get him out there.
The goaltending rotation is classic Babcock as well- he’s smarter than everyone else in hockey.
All about Babcock, all the time. He lost the team last year. It’s clearly worse this year.
Babs is stale. A dinosaur who isn’t cut out to coach this younger generation.

What else did the players tell you when you were talking to them?

So......

Apparently the XFL just had their draft (no, I swear, I'm not making this up - there's an article in the Athletic!).

Perhaps the worst team names in the history of sport.

Dallas Renegades

DC Defenders

Houston Roughnecks

Los Angeles Wildcats

New York Guardians

Seattle Dragons

St. Louis BattleHawks

Tampa Bay Vipers

I don't hate the Seattle Dragons. Everything else is just generic crap.

And soooooo open to ridicule.

The Houston Rednecks!

DC CAN'T Defenders!

And what the frank is a BattleHawk?!?!?!

- Atomic Wedgie

They need a team named the Roughriders, and a team named the Rough Riders, to be taken seriously as a league. If that were to happen, then the Tampa Bay lightning would have to watch out, or their attendance might drop, just like it did in Ottawa because the Red Blacks are such a great team.

yeah, funny enough, that's like $800K in cap space accumulated.

With the $355K they currently have, plus this, that's roughly a $3M player at the deadline.

you don't accumulate unused ltir.

adding at the deadline this year will be a challenge / need some creativity.

Oh well.

More flexibility next year, with Horton and Clarkson off contract.
