I've been saying it since Briere left, which seems like eons ago now. The team needs a legit shooter. This team just does not generate shots that really challenges goalies. The dirty goals are all well and good but when you run into goalies with good rebound control it just makes it so hard to score.

I hope Farabee is eventually the answer because it seems they have little interest in acquiring one otherwise.

Right... I mean there was a shooter sitting there at pick 11.... then still at 14..... I mean York does look like he might be a better “ghost” in the near future but damn get me a sniper

Just read that after returning from Prague, the Blackhawks were given a 7 game home stand by the schedule maker. I mean wtf?

Couldn't arrange something similar for us? Nice to say the road trip was bonding time but I don't buy it, and it clearly disadvantaged the team.

The schedule is just an excuse. Looking at the games and analyzing why they lost, there were no signs of a tired team. It's a team that didn't execute, didn't manage the puck and didn't get good enough goaltending.

The schedule shouldn't be used as an excuse by the team but it has had an effect on the team imo and asking them to go from Prague to philly to western Canada and the jet lag associated with it hasnt helped. It's a factor, and it would seem that the league may have appreciated this for Chicago by giving them an extended home stand right after returning.

Well if they thought he was the best on the board I guess you gotta take him but they've had opportunities to get involved in free agents and trades for sniper types and have avoided it.

Travel is a zero factor in the Flyers season so far. No effect whatsoever in my opinion. Seeing what happened in the games clearly shows that it didn't have an effect.

They already have Konecny. Farabee will be fortunate to turn out to be as good of a shooter as TK already is.

Totally agree with this. For years this team has carried the play in games and just not been able to finish and score. Because we don’t have snipers. Look at Draisaitl first goal... give him that look and shot 10 times and he scores 6-7 times out of 10. Give any flyer that same shot 10 times and they score maybe once or twice out of 10. In this league that equates to winning and losing

What years? Going back to the lockout the Flyers are 17th out of 31 team in GF/GP. Middle of the pack, and far from the bottom.

http://www.nhl.com/stats/...te,1&sort=goalsForPerGame

In SAT% they are 18th, so they have not been a team that carried the play more than average.

Last year they were 18th in shooting %, 0.1 behind the Cup winning Blues.
