I saw some good signs last night. He made some of the plays he is capable of making. Work in progress.

There was one play on our first PP I think..he went to pass to Jake and completely muffed it.. when through jakes legs and our of the zone at the point.

Of course it can. How is having constant migraines any different than post-concussion syndrome when it relates to playing hockey? Even if it's controlled by medication, is there a guarantee migraines won't be triggered by contact/physical exertion?

I think every individual is different. It’s try and see.

Of course. But how can Patrick be counted on going forward? Until he's seen playing games uninterrupted by migraine issues.

I don't have an issue with Hayes. My issue is the contract he was given. That's not on him.

Flyers have played with plenty of pace and puck possession in 3 of the 5 games and for most of the latter portion of another (Vancouver). The only game where they were constantly struggling to exit/enter was the Calgary game, and even there they had a 2-on-1 that wasn't finished by Lindblom and four separate point-blank cracks for JVR (three in a single sequence, another with a potential late tying goal on his stick from the left slot).

Farabee could come up now and hold his own.

Hägg has been fine as the No. 6 through the first five games. He is what he is as a player. Hasn't hurt the team. The D men who really need to step it up and make an impact have been Ghost (struggling in every aspect) and Sanheim (who has been inconsistent -- some very strong shifts, plenty of not-so-strong ones). The Flyers need Travis to take the next step as a tone-setting D, and his play has been very up-and-down so far.

It's a matter of time until Myers comes back up, but he, too, will need more consistency.

I know migraines well. mine came along with aura and were caused by a brain aneurysm which is different from Patrick's but they are no joke. I think sometimes people have a bad headache and they immediately call it a migraine. migraines aren't just bad headaches. I do hope the medication helps.

G is getting great chances...i feel once he pots one they will start to come for him. You could see his frustration last night. Same with jvr. he has been around the net, just missing pucks or tips.

I know ghost needs confidence to make plays, but has been a turnover machine.

Dominate and control the puck, even grind Mcdavid line well at first. that kid can skate.

I liked some of the line juggling last night.

Sanhiem has been in the mix with players over the last couple of games....glad the kid isn't dumb, Kassian was ready to smack him around.

I get the travel and know that missed shots or attempts will happen, but seems like we really haven't capitalized on some incredible chances. Get home, rest up

I think that much like it was perhaps with Manning, it’s more of a preference difference with Hägg and especially Morin. None of the major problems center around Hägg this season so I have no issue with him. The issue with the desire to see Morin play is numbers/preference related.

I do not think people hate Hagg, they hate that perceived better options are not utilized/

Do we really think it’s worse off to send Bunnaman down, call up Frost to play 3rd line Center minutes and slide Laughton back to Center the 4th line? Could it really be worse then what we’re getting out of both Laughton and Zbunnaman?
- Buzzo

I don't see making a move based on could it really be worse as the right approach. First, consideration needs to be made on what is best for Frost. First and foremost.

Exactly!

Hagg has been hated the most because he "cBlocked" Superstar Sanheim 2 years ago and now doing the same with Superstar Myers. Yet Ghost does a spin-o-rama and is considered "Elite".

Actually I am surprised Braun hasn't taken the AMac hate yet, well it is only 4 games into the season so there is time.

Yes, Gostisbehere is struggling in a variety of ways. All I'm saying is that I saw a couple of plays last night, deking past players, cutting pucks in passing lanes where I said that's the Gostisbehere we need. Neither Voracek, Giroux or Gostisbehere looks comfortable in the new PP alignment in my opinion. It does open up some different plays but there is no one timer threat from either wing.

JVR is a 12.6% shooter over the last 6+ seasons (and shot at a career-best 16.2 percent rate last year). That puts him in the upper portion of the league (players in same range are Patrick Kane at 12.8% , Vladimir Tarasenko at 12.7%).

Konecny is 12.4%, Lindblom 10.5%, Giroux 10.1%, Voracek 8.3%.

- bmeltzer

That’s well and good but how many of those shots are tips? JvR does have a nice shot but how much shooting can he do with his back turned to the opposing goalie?

To be fair, AMac was hardly even serviceable last year. His skating only looked half decent when he was paired with Christian "Trippin" Folin
