Yes, Gostisbehere is struggling in a variety of ways. All I'm saying is that a saw a couple of plays last night, deking past players, cutting pucks in passing lanes where I said that's the Gostisbehere we need. Neither Voracek, Giroux or Gostisbehere looks comfortable in the new PP alignment in my opinion. It does open up some different plays but there is no one timer threat from either wing. - MJL
I’m trying to be patient with the new set up...

Thing about Ghost is tha i actually feel his game improved from last year. He looked a lot worse last season. Defensively he doesnt seem as much as a liability and offensively he is making plays. However he is missing the net a lot which is a huge reason for the struggles on the pp |

No excuses but in the end goaltending lost us this game and won for the Oilers. When you outshoot a team by 30 and have 20 more high danger chances, usually you win. I know the result was bad but the process and effort was there. People forget that goaltending is a huge part of the game and yesterday our goalies were not on it. If the skaters play like that every game, 9 times out of 10 the flyers will win - bulet13
Watching Elliott makes me cringe. Getting clipped by Braunn, the way he reacted to the puck going in, I think Elliott was trying to draw a call.
Last night with the loose puck goal in the crease, he’s spinning like a top.
Not really a fan anymore. |

I agree here - his 5v5 defense has been pretty solid so far. It seems when he's in transition though, he's still looking to make a highlight play instead of just making the right play.
On the PP he also seems to be overthinking, like he can't decide between shooting, passing, or skating. |

One thing I liked about Giroux on the left side was that both he and Ghost were dangerous for one timers, either Ghost from the point or G from the circle. Voracek is much more of a pass-first player (and a left-handed shot) which takes that 1-2 option away. That's one reason I'd like to see them switched back. |

the Hagg hate.....guess we needed a new Manning. - nastyflyergirl
It’s crazy to me. I have little to no issue with Hagg. Barely notice him. |

I’m seeing ghost either miss the net or whiff on a shot. |

Hagg is one of those players that, if you hear his name mentioned, it's because he did something wrong. He's just a steady player, who just does his job. |

To be fair, AMac was hardly even serviceable last year. His skating only looked half decent when he was paired with Christian "Trippin" Folin - GrittySauce
FYI:
In no way was my previous comment made to alleviate the hate AMac received, it was well deserved. AMac is no longer a Flyer and someone has to be the goat now....
Update: If Hagg gets moved then it will probably be Braun and/or Morin. |

whiff on a pass, bad pass, hold the puck and shoot right into the defender 5 feet away or just lose the puck. He had a great preseason though. too many players pressing right now and he's one of them. |

i think the opposition has really keyed on shutting down his shooting lanes. |

haha..hagg is the GOAT. I could see a move earlier this year. Not sure now as i didn't actually think they were going to sign stewie. (not as mad as some others about this though.)
minus major injuries, what is it like thanksgiving or x mas when the traqdes pick up. |

I know this may be hard to accept, but is it possible that Hagg is just not that good, and that maybe the reason some of us complain is that we would rather see Myers in his spot? |

It’s like he is the only shooter, so that makes sense.

Elliott played pretty well in Calgary. The issue with him is can he stay healthy? If he can I think he's a serviceable backup that can handle 20-25 games competently. The Flyers need Hart to be much better than he was last night. |

The defensive defenseman is the most thankless job in all of sports. His goal is no goals. |

right, then move the puck or move your skates. to me this is where he needs to adjust his game. Players know if you play him aggressive now he will panic and or be concentrating on avoiding the body.

Some of us would, because Myers is flashier. I want a player back there who does the job of getting the puck the hell out of the defensive zone, which Hagg does. |

He does. And as much as I'm fine with Hagg as a #6, the problem is that when he gets it out of the zone, it rarely is on a teammate's stick. |
