i mean why would he get migraines after the flyers draft him? - 2Real
many, many factors could have contributed to the migraines getting worse, but i'm not a neurologist so its hard for me to pinpoint. They will figure it out and i'm guessing we will see him before xmas. From what was said there is progress already.
I don't get the issues with Hagg this season when there are bigger issues right now.
Prior to last night Coots, Jake, JVR, Hayes and Giroux were basically black holes on offense. You just can't have that. - opeth_pa
That's not even close to being true for Couturier. His line has been the best one all season, not by coincidence. Just yesterday AV said that whoever plays with Couturier gets scoring chances.
Stat heads have been fraudulently claiming that they can isolate one player for years. They cant. - MJL
You spent five years fraudulently claiming that MacDonald was a solid 2nd pairing defensemen, and dismissing any statstical evidence that showed that he wasn't actually very good.

same with g (for effirt). though he hasn't scored he will, and the chances have been there. what concerns me is that mutliple players right now do not seem to have their shot dialed in and or have been trying to pick corners or just pass up the shot. I have been fine with how hayes has played, think he holds onto the puck sometimes a little to long but yeah wel. He's here to support the offense but shut others down. Jake has been the one that i thought didn't seem to be skating as hard or was confused with the new system. JVR has had some descent chances but he is known as a streaky scorer. he will come alive. Was hoping G was gonna get one towards the end of the game but didn't. there have been three wrist shots he took this year so far that i feel, if it was feb, they would've been in. I'm sure he trained, but first baby takes a bunch o fyour time.

Jake's effort impressed me last night, it didn't surprise me that he finally got off the schneid. But it bothers me that he does this every time he gets put in the doghouse or dropped in 5v5 time. If he could put in last night's effort consistently, he'd be a perennial 90 pt player IMO
We just have to be strategic. We will start the game with no one on the ice, the opponents will be so confused they wont know what to do. They'll probably score in their own net

2nd Period: everyone goes "rover" a la Jackie Moon
In 1999, Mike Modano broke his wrist in Game 2 of the SCF, got a cast, played the rest of the playoffs and figured in the last 6 goals his team scored to win the Cup.
Tavares broke a finger and is out 2-3 weeks minimum.
It happens. There are players that dont succeed on big market teams. How many guys in the past have left a big market like Toronto or Philly and succeeded? We have seen many leave us and succeed elsewhere.
Luongo is an example of one. Was great in Florida, left for Vancouver and he died, went back to Florida and was great again until his age caught up to him. It has nothing to do with being weak mentally. Every fanbase has a whipping boy and as much as players pretend they ignore it, the cant. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
You are incorrect about Luongo. Luongo was brilliant in Vancouver. The only problem is the way he got handled in regards to C. Schneider and the goalie controversy at the end. The fans always loved him and still do. He was never a whipping boy!

Even better.
No fans will be allowed to the game. There will be no concession workers, no security, nothing. The lights will remain off. When the other team shows up, they'll think they arrived at the wrong place/time.
The Flyers will secretly be hiding in Gritty's bunker below the stadium, and will win via forfeit when the other team fails to show after heading back.

Exactly, the only line that has been good all year is Couturier/Konecny/Lindblom
Once Hayes assume his 2C spot and more likely 3C spot the offense will start to click. Hayes is not a number one center and is best suited for line 3 shutdown and penalty kill. If AV continues to try and make him a scoring threat the drought will continue. Couturier is the #1 center on this team and I think AV realizes this already. Hayes will be tried at 2C.

No, what you're SUPPOSED to do is gain puck possession and transition the puck with control out of the zone. That's the preferable method. If you chip it up the boards, you're creating, at best, a 50/50 battle for your winger and their defenseman is moving towards the puck with momentum. Throwing it out to center isn't the worst idea, but it usually results in transition for the opposition. - jmatchett383
Thats the mistake that Braun made whe. McJesus picked his pocket. He had postion, all he had to do was chip it i to the corner

Not sure where you're getting the idea that Vigneault or anyone thinks that Hayes is the #1 center on this team. Hayes is a scoring threat.

My guess is Tavares' timetable would be much shorter were Toronto in the SCF right now.
