I don't understand why everyone wants to trade N.Bjustad....
Can we all please stop theoretically trading our 3rd line center. McCann hasn't proved worthy of that spot.
Thanks - IronCity
I like Bjugstad and I dont want to just give him away, but what has he proven? He is injured every year and puts up numbers that would be about average for a 3c. McCann has been the better of the two so far in Pittsburgh.
If you can trade him for a legit top 6 winger, you do it in a heartbeat. Hopefully Guerin wants him. I'd love to do a trade around Bjugstad for Zucker.

I want Bjugstad on this roster. He's responsible defensively and is a big C/RW. Rust would go before him IMO. - Barnaby36
Yea as much as a Rust stan i am and have been, would gladly send him away in package deal to Benn. |

I think Guerin would do Horny for Zucker in normal circumstances... but the Wild are headed down tankville so if anything theyll be selling off for young assets.
Even though guys like Rust/Bjugstad seem young, they're 27 and even that's a little old for a rebuilding team. |

Well if we can get Zucker I can trade Bjugstad. They need righties and centers. Perhaps a something fo now something for later type deal: Bjugstad/Rust and a prospect/pick |

I don't think there's anything realistic about Benn as a Penguin. We already need to shed ~$3M or so... that means somehow we need to drop $12.5M to fit in Benn. Plus it would probably screw up Murray's next deal.
If we were big game hunting, I would much rather go after Hall.
In reality, Zucker is about as big of a fish as we could possibly still go after. But is he even really a 'need'?
Purely speculative but in Lebrun's latest article he wondered if the Pens would have interest in Turris. |

Until we figure out if Malkin needs a wing, no idea. Figuring it out is on hold. Zucker would be a nice fit for our style. Has the speed/motor of Tanev, the play driving similar to Simon, and had been a top ES producer over the past 3 years. Only thing he doesn't do is fill Kessel's spot on the PP. |

I’m pretty much convinced the best power play no matter how much talent you have is cycle the puck up high and put pucks on net and a guy on both sides down low to knock in rebounds. |

Someone had posted that that is exactly what the Pens have been doing in Geno's absence. Both Schultz and Letang have had a significant uptick in shots on the PP and it's been working. As long as they can get into the zone that is. Entries have still been pretty ugly for the most part. |

I don’t care about age as much as I care about current hockey ability at this point. Crosby has appeared ageless these past three seasons, but Malkin and Letang even when fully healthy have definitely started to lose a step even though they’re still great, and you just never know how much longer Sid will remain ageless. Youth is nice, but given that we don’t know how much longer our stars will keep playing at such a high level, I’m going for the best possible hockey player available that I can add, regardless whether he’s 32 or 23. - Victoro311
sounds like something a blogger would say |

How are we going to win tonight with Malkin hurt and Kessel traded? |
