Its obvious the team doesn't want him around. They are motivated by his departure to help expedite a trade.

How about a well deserved shout out to JJ for the yeoman effort he exerted on that PK leading up to the winning goal? You spew nothing but hate at him, why not give credit when due? You can hate the contract, that isn’t on him, but you can embrace the player. Rewatch his efforts on the penalty, he boxed out, had an active stick, buried an AV in the corner, and actually started two breakouts, including Tanev’s game winner. Take off your hate glasses and give him a chance.

That's not going to happen here, LOL. He could score a hat trick and he'll still be junk here.

Nice. Next week is a tough one. Trying not to load up on too many players from one team because of the four-game-players, but it's hard.

How much stock to you put in to selecting four game players over three game players

EDIT: Yeah, McD and Drais put me over the edge. I also had Olofsson, Eichel and Skinner so that helped.

- Rinosaur

I think it just depends on who they are. If there guys that are close to a PPG, I try to fit in the 4 games. If their that tier down or so with 4 games but someone like Sid/McD/Kuch only have 3, I’ll take the 3 gamers because the likelihood for a multipoint game is higher with those guys than the lower tier 4 game guy.

His best game was the CBJ game where he hovered around 50% on the shot attempts and had a +3 goal differential at 5v5. Other than that he’s been whatever. Loses the scoring chance/high danger battle every game but with the limited ice time it’s not hurting the Pens nearly as much as in the past. I think he’s a +1 at 5v5 on the season (3-2)

So far so good for JJ... I like the rotation in the 3rd pair, and as long as he doesn't climb up the ladder any further, unless there are injuries of course.

I remember when Gonchar first came here to play, and how disappointed I was because he played pretty horrible his whole first season here. Maybe JJ too can improve with time.

Gave you a shout out on the last blog (page 57 I think) on the new pooch. Pretty good for a cat person, if I do say so myself.

I think Geno's his own worst enemy, and his teammates miss him (except JJ maybe, LOL)

RW turning Hockey Buzz into Hockey Buzzkill. One blog at a time. He even took time to post a Sabres goal by Eichel. Sure the goal was pretty and he did say it reminded him of Mario's goals. But I feel like it was a lame attempt at writing about his beloved Sabres. If he loves them so much, why doesn't he stop this charade and go and write for them?

Hahah thanks! Yeah my guess is that his personality is going to be more like a cat. My 9 year old pug is basically a cat in a pugs body. Walks around on the top of the couch, purrs when he’s sitting in your lap, all kinds of cat qualities lol

I edited. I don't need to see Eichel's goal on Pens site no matter how much it reminded him of Mario. He even twitted the same thing. Not one word about Letang and Dumo getting pwned. Not one word about JJ actually having a decent game.

I think last night was exhibit A why $3.5M on Tanev was better money spent than $4M on Donskoi.

Donskoi is like paying $4M for Simon or Kahun. Tanev brings something the Pens desperately needed.

He’ll always be an overpayment but I’m happy with Tanev.

I kind of stopped. Usually skim through it a bit before going straight to the thread. The thing is, I think he can be a decent writer and seems to know stuff, but he doesn't utilize the platform for anyone to engage with him, so he comes off as quite a "listen to me from my high horse, for everything I say is a fact" douche.

Do you folks think he reads the posts? I am quite certain he does.

I also agree about Lafferty. I mentioned last night. He looked very solid at center and made things happen. I still want him at wing, but he’s impressive at center.
- Rinosaur

Gotta be careful with early comparisons and all... but Lafferty could make up for the Sundqvist mistake. Similiar kind of player but I think Laffers got better wheels (and from my hometown )

Over payments are never great, but it’s good to be in a situation where at least your overpayment is providing a positive impact
